If your own faith is so weak that you need to grasp at untenable absolutes (e.g., "The bible is literally true on all things") and you're afraid to challenge such assumptions, how can you ask anyone else to believe in such things?

If you have such little faith in your own assumptions that you can't question them.... how can you seek converts???

okay. im breaking apart christianity one part at a time to put under a magnifying glass, and first up is hell, because they just seem to love that place. here are my questions

1. where is hell?
2. what constitutes going to hell? why does it exist if you are forgiven? why does heaven exist if you are not? where is the dividing line?
3. what is it like in hell? is it fun if you like being evil?
4. What was hell made of before fire was discovered? for that matter, what was all of christianity in prehistoric times?
5. What does the devil look like?

Have you ever asked yourself that? Are you a Christian with your heart and mind in the world and your feet in the church? Or, are you the kind that seeks to do God's will as revealed in Scripture?

Whichever one you are, the Bible tells you to examine yourself to see if you are in the faith. Have you done that? Have you examined your beliefs, your actions, your motives and compared them to scripture to see what kind of a Christian you are?

Are you submitting your life to God or God to your life?
This is an important question. No one should simply take it for granted that he is saved because he is born into a Christian family, or is a good person, or is sincere in heart and mind, or thinks that God is so loving that he'll let everyone into heaven.

These things do not make anyone a Christian nor do they guarantee anything with God. Only faith in Christ (Rom. 5:1), trust in Him alone for the forgiveness of sins (Acts 4:12), receiving Him (John 1:12) is what being born again i

He is amongst us now. He is humanity. Humanity is the Antichrist. We are our worst nightmare. Proof: Global Warming, War, Famine, Disease, etc. This has existed since the advent of "Civilization." The Savior or the hypothetical Messianic age is the evolution of mankind into a civilized rational, peaceful, and moral humanity. When will the Messiah come? Decipher the metaphors and seperate it from the litteralism. If you can't then you probably can't interpret the Bible either.

but ask something that requires one to question their religious assumptions, and the only ones answering with thoughtful responses are agnostics or atheists?

I got x2 the responses to the obvious "retarded" question than I have for questions relating to the relationship of science to religion, or whether mankind takes an arrogant self-appointed role over other animals.

It's sad that so many people here are ready to jump on easy questions....

but so afraid of the hard ones.

I am SO tired of hearing questions that are obviously intended as insults for specific religions. Why attack someone's spirituality? You aren't helping the problem doing that, even if you're just trying to defend your own in the process. I'm Christian, and I respect ALL spirituality. I believe people are entitled to be athiest, or Muslim, or Islamic, or Agnostic...why fight about it? I realize people are passionate about their beliefs, and that's great, but to attack someone else's beliefs is useless and rude.

i've seen many christians here who just insult others and dance while telling others that they will go to hell!!

what's this all about? do they think that they are actually threatening us by hell who know one knows whether it exists or not?!!
seems a little foolish to me i must say.

I'm in high school...
I finally got the courage to talk to this girl I like at school and things are going pretty smooth right now. But I dont know how to ask her out, Should I say sweet things like: "I think you are really beautiful and I was wondering if you will like to go to the movies with me"
Or is this too corny and will she laugh at me.

PS: I know she likes me too.

Thank you very much for your contribution.

The moderate muslims claim islam is a peacefull religion, yet in the qu'ran it is permitted to kill any non-believers. Women are objectified as sex objects and are allowed to be beaten by thier husbands. Women have to ask for permission to have a job, two women testimony equal that of one man. Jihad is a holly war against infedels and non believers. The qu'ran is a viel evil book, but everyone tries to say it is a peacefull religion. Can someone tell me why?

Seems to me each do chose their own God based upon many influences. Some are experiences, reading, environment, family training, culture, etc., etc.

Is there a better teacher than nature itself and all creation since it does witness to each and every humankind every conscious moment of existence in this system? Is it not possible for a unit of humankind to learn from creation correctly if he.she does search for the constantly consistent truth?

While engaged in jihad with a neighboring nation, I gave a bacon flavored jelly bean to a female homosexual Jew after Buddha told me to do so in a dream. Will this ruin my chances of getting into Valhalla?

Seems to me like too many answers to questions on religion and/or about God are answered with answers that say the answer definately know best for everyone. By that I mean that too many are too quick to say others have the wrong God, see the fact that there is a God, or do not see God correctly. Seems every one wants to correct the other guy.

Maybe next I will read I selected the wrong wife, the wrong job, the wrong place to live, read the wrong books, got the wrong education, love the wrong things, etc., etc.

Is it correct for another to judge someone based upon the standards that they have within. Should not each let other to set their own standards as to what they do see as best for them. Is it right for me to tell you that you love or exhault the wrong person or the wrong God if that is not the question I did ask?

Please no long sermons OK.
Just think about your self and the past answers you have given then be honest to all with this reply.
