Why does islam claim to be a peace full religion?

The moderate muslims claim islam is a peacefull religion, yet in the qu'ran it is permitted to kill any non-believers. Women are objectified as sex objects and are allowed to be beaten by thier husbands. Women have to ask for permission to have a job, two women testimony equal that of one man. Jihad is a holly war against infedels and non believers. The qu'ran is a viel evil book, but everyone tries to say it is a peacefull religion. Can someone tell me why?

No where in the Quran does it give permission to kill non-believers. You must treat all people with respect.

Women are not beaten in true Islam and are not sex objects. Jihad is an arabic word for personal struggle like stopping smoking is my Jihad. You must read the Quran before beleiving everything you hear. All your info is totally wrong. It sounds like your listening to too much media.

Many of the things you're describing are political minutae that people try and pawn off as religion. If you actually read the Quran, most of it is very much like the bible, full of stories and social ideas. Women are given the right to vote in it, and to own their own land and businesses. But unfortunately, just like Christians and Jews and almost any other organized relgion do, the book is misinterpreted and misrepresented to benefit whoever's wearing the pants politically. Something else to consider is that the Quran in Arabic is a vastly different book than translated, because there are some concepts, words, and idea in Arabic that have no English equivalent. It also depends on the translation you read.

You can't say that the Quran is the only barbaric book, either. Didn't God ask Abraham to murder his own son just to prove his faith? It was only at the moment the knife was raised that God put a stop to it. You have to realize that much of any religious text is archaic, and because ideals and concepts expressed in it made sense back then doesn't mean they do now, or aren't just there for illustrative purposes. In other words, it's a book, written by men, just like the Bible. Though it may allegedly be the word of a deity, it is put to paper by man, read my man, and interpreted by man. And just like with the Bible, a very bad man can turn it into a very bad book.

Becuase it is! Women have full rights in Islam unlike Christianity, and Jihad is not the concept that is promoted by the terrorists today who are not Muslims even though they cliam to be. We are not permitted to kill non-believers. It's like saying why does Christianity claim to be a peaceful reigion when look at all the terrible things people have done in the name of this religion and how the bible considers women.
My goodness there are so many ignorant people here. Women are not objectified sexually, they are protected from being objectifed sexually. Their value as human beings is considered not to be how sexually appealing they are but how they act, what they say and think etc. Women don't have to ask to get a job, they are encouraged to do so and to get and education, they just don't have the obligation to give all their earnings to the family like a husband must, they can keep them for themsleves and their own personal use and can manage thier own financial affairs without a mans interference. And two testimony of women being equal to a man's is not in the Qur'an, ONLY in financial transactions just in case the woman is married to rhe person she is testifying against (as an added insurance against bias between a married couple). in the Qur'an it very clearly says: "Be you male or female, you are equal to one another"(3.195). women do not only inherit half of what men earn, the Qur'an gives freedom and right for them to inherit everything. only if there is no will do they inherit 1/3 for practical reasons. Just as the idea that compensation for murder of a woman is half of that of a man is abig fat LIE, and not Islamic or Qur'anic. they can travel freely and do all the things men can do. How about the bible : "if a women have concieved a seeds and born a man child she is unclean for seven days, but if she bear a maid child she is unclean for 2 weeks" (Leviticus 12:2-5)
"They (women) are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law, and if they learn anything let them ask their husbands at home for it is a shame for them to speak in church" (1Corinthians 14:34-35)
"and now i wnat you to realise the head of every man is Christ and the head of every woman is man" (1corinthians 11:3-6)
"and if a woman does not cover her hair she should have her hair cut off for it is a disgrace" (1Corinthians 11: 3-6).
Polygamy: "if a man take another wife, her food and her duty of marraige , shall her not diminsh" (Exodus 21:10). NAd this just the beginnig!

That is not true. Islam is the most peaceful and constructive religion when it has the upper hand, but when it is weak, and attacked externally by the US, Israel and the west and internally by dictators implemented by the west reactive defense like 9/11 happens. For the last few hundred years the attack of the west against Islam didn't stop and was horrible and when one attack on the US as a reaction happened two Muslim countries were send back to stony age and destructed now compare all this to how Islam behave when it has the upper hand at this link:

in the midevil time knights fought and killed many people and they believed that by killing they would go to hell. then a certain pope decread that any one who fought and died in his war would go to heaven. this is how the crucaides started. the knights fought in it to go to heaven.

Is your religion the perfect one? The most correct? The ultimate way to heaven? The perfect answer? Does it tell you that your religion is the way to go?

Why do you question other religion shall remain hidden from me, but please don't ask ignorant questions. If you want to ask this questions, ask a person who knows about it, i.e. a Moslem. Don't ask people who are not Moslems. It's pretty much like a blind man asking other blind men what does an elephant look like. Explanations from such acts are often conflicting and erroneous. You are misinterpreting. Its very harmful to just take a few quotes for a religious text and think it relates to a whole religion.
The Crusaders were Christians and they massacred 5 million Jews and Muslims(including women and children) and even ate their flesh during their capture of Jerusalem.! So what's the big deal? Well, Christians killed 50 million Christians in WW2. what's the big deal? Timothy McVeigh, KKK, Bush and Milosevic.??
And Hitler claim to be a Christian?
The Holocaust was caused by Christian fundamentalism:

Allowed to be beated by husbands? that is a negitve culture which is formed in third world countries, it is not part of Islam.

The 2 women testimony equaling to one man, is written in a book called Hadith. cant spell it. It was written by rich muslim kings, so they can break the laws and not get caught by it, altho many countries follow that book, that book is invalid and is NOT ISLAM. Islam is only from one book, THE QURAN.

Jihad means war, but not the war you might think, its a war within ONESELF. The war you fight, against temptation, against adultary etc.

IT IS NOT PERMITTED TO KILL ANY HUMAN LIFE!!!! Only if your homeland if being attacked, and you have tried all other ways to prevent from fighting, you are allowed to fight, but only allowed to fight men, and not women, and not elders or children.

If Islam taught to kill every non believer, i believe that 10% of France has Muslims, and 10-15% Muslims in America etc, if each one drives only in his car and runs over a person continiously, they would have killed 50% of the nations already.

Oftentimes guilty people or crooks say the exact opposite to try and set a smokescreen.
I am so sick of politcally correct white people and Muslims say they are a peaceful religion. I am not stupid, however!
I have a tv and see all the trouble they cause around the world.
Thats like some guys kicks your butt and then claims to be a pacifist and is against fighting.
The proof is in the pudding, and I know what I see. If the Muslim's don't like it, reign in your own people, and fight the fight for us, and then we may start to believe you.
