If Christians only follow dogma because it is written by God, how does that not make them slaves? A slave does whatever he's told. Does it really make a difference that he chose to be a slave? My parents gave me life – I live for them, but not according to their will.

If Jesus could turn water into wine by touch
I think Jesus could merely go to one of our water reservoirs and turn the entire thing into ETHANOL FUEL !!!... couldn't the return of Christ free America from ARAB OIL DEPENDANCE?

Why do most Americans have a tendency to believe their loved ones who weren't born again go to Heaven.?

The bible says we shouldn't judge wether this person goes to heaven or not when he/she dies, because we might be wrong. But, why even when they know the person wasn't born again, they always wish to meet him/her in heaven, why not "HELL"? Why if "Heaven" is the place that everyone wishes to go, and they don't want to do what it takes to get there. When we say "rest in peace", and the person's already in HELL. People hate to hear this word "HELL", but if you believe there's heaven you need to believe there's HELL, and it's for human beings, not for animals. I hope you change the way you think.
Choose Heaven, because when you die, your family will wish to see u in Heaven.
Thank you!

So, god, who is also his own son (apparently evidenced by the fact that a supposed virgin gave birth)...anyway, god sacrificed himself to himself so he could return him to himself, and mankind was forgiven of things that only god regarded as sinful in the first place.

What's with the elaborate plot? Why not just a big voice in the sky saying, "Okay, guys, I made a few mistakes, but believe in me and everything'll be cool."

Let's suppose that I work in an aquarium, and the sharks are all acting up. In order to get them to behave, I go to my son and say, "hey, we're going to throw you to the sharks. All right by you?"

Same story. Makes just as much sense, which is none at all.

Obviously christian music.

Jazz, country, rock, hip-hop, rap, classical?

I bet Jesus would like most forms of music. With a few exceptions like Kevin Federline.

celebrate Christmas? Christmas is a Pagan holiday. Why should Christians care; its just a religious facade with commercial overtones. Furthermore, why do Christians celebrate Halloween? Its an Irish memorial day from the ancient druid times. Who still believes that Halloween is the Devil's birthday? have you researched this notion? Where did you first hear this? It bugs me when people choose to believe the first thing they hear especially from church or some farcicle place like that. I don't mean to disrespect Christianity ,but it seems that they view themselves as infallible.

Don't things like makeup, tight jeans, high heels, short skirts, cleavage, etc all inspire lust in men causing them to sin? I personally don't see how it's possible not to lust after women. This was one of the first things that got me to start investigating my beliefs. Once I hit puberty, my the Bible's definition, I was sinning all the time. I prayed and it didn't change anything. I eventually reasoned out for myself that Christianity was false, a belief I hold today. It just doesn't make sense to me why Christian women don't dress like Muslims. This is what the Bible says about the subject:

"But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust in his eye has already committed adultery with her in his heart."
- Matthew 5:28

I think this is a very interesting question and maybe it will get some of the men out there to start questioning what they believe.

Can we not learn to respect the life experiences of other people and the reasons why they have decided to follow their faith? There is so much to be learned from the input of other religious and spiritual insights than our own.

"it will never die out" will not be accepted as an answer as all religions die out eventually... take a look at the Egyptions... we dont worships cats or bury out dead in pyramids anymore.

I am looking for numbers below circa 2010 :-) - yeah i wish... but is 2200 a realistic possibility?

10 And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable. 11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables: 12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.
Compare: Matthew 13:1-23; Luke 8:4-15

Salvation is Not for Everyone?
It is no surprise that Jesus’ apostles didn’t understand what he was talking about when he delivered his parable about the seeds and the sower. It appears to be metaphorical, so the meaning isn’t immediately obvious or intuitive to everyone hearing it. Naturally, they ask him about it.

Stranger than even the parable is Jesus' response here, which is that the parable is supposed to be a mystery and that most people aren’t supposed to understand it.

Christians think it's about 10,000 years and scientists think it's millions of years old . Why the differences? ( As a Christian, I especially want the Christian view ).

This is directed at those who respond to those who ask questions you know they're only trying to get a rise out of you. Why do you even respond? Do you not have the will to ignore? And if you can't tell the difference, well, then no need to respond. Thanks. Just trying to help and understand.

Is it God who punishes us for our sins or do we get punished because we commited the sin, therefore, we opened the door for Satan to come in and try to destroy us. And if that's the case, does God allow Satan to do things to us because we have sinned? For example: I went out this weekend and sinned. I've already asked God for foregiveness but I feel like I'm still going to be punished in some way or another. This worries me even more because my daughter is ill and I'm afraid that I opened the door to Satan and now she could be in danger of getting more sick. Is this true by God's Word? Please help me with advice and scripture. I know what I did was wrong, I asked for forgiveness and strength from God, so I don't do it again. What else should I do?
