There are only two possible reasons...
1) You suffer from a psychosis and are hearing voices.
OR
2) You are not over 2,000 years old.
Not sure which is you, but your friends (real or imagined) may be able to tell you...

I believe you. The Bible says a sheep knows his shepherd's voice. God has spoken to me as well. Just remember God will never tell you to do anything that goes against His laws or His Character. Reading His word is just the kind of thing He would tell you to do! He told me to ask someone if she knew Christ. She did, but she needed a Christian to pray with her because her son was dying in a nearby room (we were in a hospital).

Don't worry I believe you, too. Wholeheartedly!!! :) I've actually gotten a verbal word spoken to me one time and not just in my heart and spirit. Seriously, this is not a joke. He actually said my name with showing me visions through the Holy Spirit. (God's Spirit)
With God ALL things ARE possible; so the person who was asking about their car? Yeah if you truly believe it could happen and give your whole hearted faith in God, then yeah he could do that. But then it also says that even faith as small as a mustard seed can have results, too. :)
Plus God is the same now, always and forever, so since he spoke verbally to Moses, Isaiah, Ezekial or Paul, even Jesus plus many others in the Bible WITH visions than he can surely speek verbally and give people visions now. :)
In the Last Days God will send down His Spirit the young will have visions and the old will dream dreams. etc...
He probably verbally told you to read the Bible to open your spiritual eyes, and to bring you back to Him. Am I right? :)

Have you ask everyone?
There are people who do believe it and there are people who will believe anything.
Reading your Bible does sound like something God would want you to do.
But when people go around saying that God told them to kill, lets say, Joe Blow, when God is love and would want Joe Blows soul saved from eternal damnation then I think they are listening to Satan and NOT God.

Because no one can eavesdrop on the conversation. But if God told you to read the bible, you are being led on, as it contains hundreds of errors and dozens of internal contradictions.
