Don't things like makeup, tight jeans, high heels, short skirts, cleavage, etc all inspire lust in men causing them to sin? I personally don't see how it's possible not to lust after women. This was one of the first things that got me to start investigating my beliefs. Once I hit puberty, my the Bible's definition, I was sinning all the time. I prayed and it didn't change anything. I eventually reasoned out for myself that Christianity was false, a belief I hold today. It just doesn't make sense to me why Christian women don't dress like Muslims. This is what the Bible says about the subject:

"But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust in his eye has already committed adultery with her in his heart."
- Matthew 5:28

I think this is a very interesting question and maybe it will get some of the men out there to start questioning what they believe.

What lots of Christian women don't understand is that it is impossible for a normal man not to lust after a pretty woman. This is probably why Muslim women are made to dress the way they do. How can the Bible say something is a sin if it's impossible not to do? It's the same thing with homosexuallity. People are born that way. The Muslims probably reasoned that since it's impossible not to lust when you see a woman wearing skin tight clothes and shorts and such, they had to make women cover up. They are just following their holy book better than Christians follow theirs. That's all. Christians take or leave whichever parts of the Bible they want to.

To all the people that answered the question saying that Muslim women cover everything except for there eyes: Its clear that you have never seen a Muslim woman besides what the media displays. Islam does not require you to cover everything except for your eyes. Islam simply says that your dress should be modest. You can wear pants, shirts, or whatever you like, just not really tight/skimpy clothing.
Now to answer your question: Not all Christian women dress like that. Believe it or not if you visit some strict Christian churches you will see women who wear loose/modest clothes. If you look at the way Mary is dipicted in Christianity she is covered like 'Muslims'. That shows that Christians know they should dress appropriately, but some of them choose not to listen. The focus should not be on what women are wearing, its about self control. Women should not have to be the only ones covering up, men should also do there part. Its not okay for a man to go up to a women and rape or sexually violate her and say "Oh! I did because of the way she was dressed". In actuality it has very little to do with that. Although I hold this view, I do believe that women need to dress better. Christianity seems to be the only religion that has no restrictions to what people can wear (both men and women)!!

True Christian women dress modestly,as the Bible commands.1Peter 3:3-5. The same holds true for Christian men. It is normal for lustful feelings to emerge during puberty. God created us that way. On the other hand, God also gave us free will and with it, the ability to choose right from wrong. 1Colossians 3:5 You have control over your actions, not the women around you.
As for sinning all the time, the Bible tells us that God forgives freely all those asking for it, through his Son Jesus.

I completely disagree with you.

We don't dress like Muslims because we are Christians. We have a relationship with the living God and His Son Jesus.

The only thing the Holy Bible tells us (ladies) is to be modest in our dress (clothing). 1 Tim. 2:9 In like manner, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefastness and sobriety...

Why would we (ladies) want to make our Christian brothers stumble and perhaps fall? We don't. It's a two way street, though. Men need to dress modestly also.

However, if we are conservatively dressed and a man still lusts in his heart...then it is his problem that he must deal with...and vise versa.

You lust because you are a sinner. You could just as easily thank God for the eye candy His has done so well to make and stop the lust dead in it's tracks. Are you saying you can't control your on mind and thoughts? That's a cop-out if I ever heard one!

As for people being born "gay." That's a cop out too! Sin is a choice. Just because you are attracted to someone of the same sex doesn't mean you "have" to act on it. Again, sin is a choice!

I hope you once again find the grace of the living God and His Son Jesus. May your search be short and your life long!

Well it doesn't cause woman to sin, it causes men to sin. They have the lustful thoughts, although u could say the woman encourage the sin. Society influences how our woman dress. Fashion mags, T.V, celebrities. Not all Muslim woman dress in traditional clothing, but i think they are more scrutinized by their community than Christians are when they dress more provocatively. And the reason Christians don't dress more like Muslim woman is because of the different religious and social traditions.

Christian women should dress more conservatively than some of them do, but dressing like Muslim women is going a little too far I think. (I don't see how they keep from getting heatstroke.) There has to be a happy medium. As for your lust problem, it's natural to have those feelings, especially at that age.

Muslim women cover up and hide their faces, but yet their eyes and covered bodies stir up just as much lust in Muslim men, because that's the way men were designed to ensure the survival of the species. Changing western women's dress would not suppress the natural lust that all men naturally feel.

Isn't it interesting that it doesn't say that in the Muslim holy book.

The reason Christian women don't dress like Muslim women is because they are not Muslim women. Muslim women don't dress like Christian women because they are not Christian women.

If the sight of women creates such uncontrollable lust in you, try wearing dark sunglasses.

I live in Florida. It's hot here. You walk around in that stifling costme if you want. Not me. Besides, I'm not christian, and many other women aren't either. What are you going to do about us? Or did you mean you want all AMERICAN women to dress this way? If you can't control yourself, here's an idea. Go in your house. Go in your bedroom. Shut the door. Get in the bed. Pull the covers over your head. Now stay there, and shut up!

You need to stop stereotyping Christian women. I'm a Christian woman, and I don't dress like the description in your post.

But, let me get this straight - to keep YOU from lusting, Christian women have to cover themselves from head to toe? What's wrong with this picture?

You need to understand that the Bible requires Christian women to dress modestly. Fact: most to them do not. Is it the Bible's fault?
