Yes, a very good book by Rick Warren. It uses different versions of the Bible to bring the message across. I don't think it twists the scriptures, but every author uses sources to get their point across.

purpose driven life is drivel, and twists the scriptures is fundie for i want to defend my religion even if what people say is right.

He does have a little different interpretation. Don't know if I'd call it twisting however.
