During Mel's arrest he stated that Jews are the reason for all the wars in the world. If he had replaces the word Jews with the word Muslims, do you still think he would have been the lead story on every news channel for a week? Do you think we would still be calling him a racisit and not a hero?

I have been an avid atheist for a few years. I was raised Jewish, but non reform, I have never been a very active Jew. Lately, honestly mainly because of this forum, I have been thinking about Judaism again. Seeing questions of hatred towards the Jews has made me angry and I have found myself defending the religion. I am so lost. I don't see the logic in believing in God, but I feel like Judaism has been calling to me. I want to attend a High Holy Day service, but they are all so expensive that I cannot afford it. Any opinions? I could really use some advice

Please....I don't want any hatred. I would appreciate that no one tries to point me towards their faith, and no atheists make fun of me for how I am feeling right now. I just feel lost and I could use a little guidance, and I don't need to feel bad about myself because of it.

Christians only...since only they have the spiritual discernment from the Holy Spirit...

" The natural man cannot receive the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him, NEITHER CAB HE KNOW THEM, for they are spiritually discerned". (1Corin. 2:14)

is being delivered which draws in strong negative response in this forum. Be as it is, perhaps we can learn some few tips from different faiths.

Muslims start with a phrase "Peace be with you"

Christians end with a phrase "God bless you"

In between we may learn from some devout catholics or Buddist how they express their views.

Agree? Or do I miss something else?

God bless you.

So why do any Christians answer here? If you have a computer and an Internet account, you certainly haven't followed the teachings of your god have you?
Want proof?

Matthew 19:21-24

Jesus answered, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me." When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth. Then Jesus said to his disciples, "I tell you the truth, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."

Here is another;
Matthew 6:24

No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and Money.

So, to any of you Christians that believe the bible is truth why don't you follow the teachings of the bible?

I am a Christian (Lutheran) and am just wondering why you would rather be apart of another faith (I am NOT trying to be judgmental, just wondering) what is it about your religion that makes you stay or gives you hope? No Wrong Answer!

I am taking a class called Mythology/Folklore and some of the kids in my class ask questions about how Greeks actually believed "this stuff." Some of them are Christian and I wonder how they can say that Zeus didn't throw lightning bolts when they believe that Jesus walked on water. What makes Christianity so much more credible than the beliefs of the ancient Greeks? I'm curious about what you think...

Why did certain people in the bible live for so long... Into their hundredseven, when today we are lucky to live past 60?
Is this because it is a fabrication of a well written book ie the bible or were we just that dumb back then and werent that sharp at judging time?

In matthew 24....the disciples ask Jesus three awesome questions...
1. Tell us when will these things happen(end Times)
2. What will be the sign of your coming
3. and the end of the age...

Jesus said the following ...
that we must be aware that we are not deceived...
he goes on to outline what will happen...wars and rumors of wars and so on...
then he says something very important...
these are the beginning of sorrows....
it is not the beginning of sorrow for those who didnot accept jesus but the beginning of sorrow for us who have ...look with me..
Jesus said ...Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you....then Jesus says something else...look...
matthew24:22..and unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved..Who was he talking about......?
