I want to be compassionate, but I also like to help in practical ways. And, I'm afraid - for me - prayer is a nice thought but ineffective and impractical.
I suggest that, instead of relying on prayer, you go and seek professional help to reduce your (quite understandable) fear of needles. Some good, focused therapy will help. It won't remove the fear, but it will make it manageable and will teach you some coping mechanisms for when the moment-with-the-needle actually arrives.
Good luck! It's difficult, but possible!

I know how the fear of needles can paralyze you. My husband was this way before he was diagnosed with lung cancer, and then to his brain and other parts of his body. He would turn away at first when he started chemo. He had a muscle disease too and I had to give him daily injections, after a few, he would not even flinch. After awhile he would look and keep in his mind that God was always with him. He is gone now, but I know he's with the Lord. God is the healer of all, but he also gives doctors the knowledge to help you and in your case keep you healthy by getting a physical every year. This is my belief. God also gives you the wisdom to do what is best for your health. God is the main part of healing, but doctors and "needles" are just a part of that. I feel if you go to a doctor that you know believes in the Lord, you are on the right track. You have to take care of you the"vessel". This is what God would want you to do.

I thoroughly understand! I am like this over any kind of dental stuff, and any medical stuff where they might medicate me. I usually make whatever appointment I need, then pray for strength as I drive. I also try to have something really fun to do when I am done with the medical. That way I can think of it, and look forward to it as soon as I am "outta there."
Phobias are very powerful things and unfortunately to someone who has never experienced it, they seem to discount it and say things like...oh it's no big deal.
Yes, God will help you, get you through it. The problem is that as human beings we can't seem to let go and allow him to hold us. Sometimes i know he is there helping and I am still struggling, trying to control things.
I love this passage, it helps me quite a bit.
Psalm 46:10 Be still and know that I am God.
He is in control of all things and will get you home safe and sound from the exam.

I too am afraid of needles. I am a diabetic and have to do blood labs about every three months. Ask the lab technician to use
a baby needle to withdraw blood. They hurt less. If you are the type of person who gets light headed when blood is drawn or when you get a shot tell the nursing staff. I have learned to just squeak now instead of letting out a scream. Don't let your fears keep you from getting medical help. You will be surprised at the
strength you can find when you need to.

I hate needles, too. Prayer is great, yes, but I've found that a more effective way to keep my mind off the needle is to close my eyes and imagine my kitty. She always cheers me up no matter what. I imagine her and that I'm petting her and she's purring...and by then it's done.
Like I said, prayer is wonderful, but God just doesn't purr as well.

First this is something you need to handle on your own...God will not make your skin go numb so that you can take a shot...
I to have a fear of needles..
This is what I do
1.Realize that it is only going to take a few seconds...
2.It is only hurting a tiny part of skin...nothing else
3.count when the needle is in...you wouldn't believe how much pressure comes off when counting.
God gives you the strenght to face it...but the pain is on your own...

One of the people had answered that you should seek professional help and this will help you get over your fear of needles and I whole heartedly agree. I prayed to get over my deathly fear of heights and within days I found myself in a therapist's office seeking help which they gave me. God works in mysterious ways. So, the human doctor may have cured me, but it was God who lead me there. Good luck.

You wan't ppl to pray because u have a phobia of needles, as in an injection? Ummmm....I think ppl have more serious issues to pray about (war, world hunger, abused children etc) then to pray for someone with a silly phobia. Grow up!

You can't tell God to speed up the help because He knows when the time is right for Him to show up.God will show up right on time.It might not be when you think He should show up, but if you wait on Him,He will bless you. This is not out of sarcasm,it is out of honesty.
God Bless,
