Throughout history scientists have been condemned and threatened by the church (think gallileo, darwin), is christianity the only religion to do this, or are there others?

Input from people of different religions is appreciated.

If you are religous think about it for a second. Place yourself in his shoes...he lived in a home with no floor, no a/c, no television. He was hated by many he rarely got a meal that didn't have sand in it. Think about it sit by God creator of Heaven and Earth and basically live like a prince or stay and live the mediocre life he had.... i would nail myself to that cross.

I've wondered this at times. When Jesus came to earth, He fulfilled many of the prophecies concerning Him. He was either a liar, a lunatic, or Lord of all creation as He claimed to be. With His fulfillment of prophecies written up to thousands of years before He arrived on earth, with the miracles and healings He did, and with the evidence of extranormal powers and character in the followers He left behind on earth, why is it hard for most Jews to believe that the Man who came down to earth 2,000 years ago is indeed their Christ?

They are of the same religion, but a different "bracket". I, myself, am a Catholic. We go to the same churches, but different times. I know that the only difference between the two is that Catholics recognize Mother Mary more and is often worshipped the same as Jesus.
But I noticed that Christians always have some messed up things to say about Catholics and vice versa. What the f is that about? And why??

From my school-days I recall a Bible quote on this topic, so is it my fault or God's if I still don't have faith?

What do you do when you've got this great desire to be with your significant other, be romantic, make love, etc, but you're single

and yes, i am satisfied with my life, but nothing compares to being in a beautiful, passionate relationship.

so don't write about that 'cause i'm fed up with such comments.

Saw this on Ali G last night when he was interviewing one of those American Christian 'all gays will burn in hell' types. Just curious to see how many Christians on Answers really believe this, and will own up to it.

A guy would create desaster hurricane, because people are friendly toward gays. If he didn't like how some people turn out, he would flood the whole world and kill them.
