well, for the self rightous people, I hope to meet you, because i will rip your religious beliefs apart a am an evolutionist through and through, but the difference is that I have proof of my beliefs. Don't get me wrong, you can belief anything that you choose, that's fine by me, but once you start shoving it down someone's throat. You should really make sure that you are as informed as they are!!!!!!!
It's normal to debate religion, but it is not necessary to make it into a war, so just remember that next time it comes up.

There's nothing wrong with being religious but I detest when people try to shove their beliefs down my throat. I consider myself agnostic and I don't argue and debate with people about their religion. I respect it and I expect the same respect back. I deplore when fervently religious people attack others (their primary and only target seems to be gay people) and tell them that they're sinful, evil and going to hell. They are crossing lines and pushing their beliefs on others.

Agreed. There is far too much preaching going on here, and there shouldn't be. There is nothing wrong with a good debate, but to shove beliefs donw someones throat is wrong. People have the capacity to make up their own minds about what they think is true to them.

How does one define push? If you were about to run into a building, wouldn't you want someone to tell you that the building was on fire or would you whine, "Don't push me. I'll go where I want."
The gospel of Jesus is good news. (The good news is that we don't have to go to hell.) It would be selfish to have this good news and keep it to ourselves. If we hated you as much as you think, we would keep quite and say nothing. In other words, we would be glad to see you end up there.
In fairness to you, some Christians can be described as pushy. I've encountered such people, before I became a Christian. Such people are full of spiritual pride and use Christianity as a status symbol. However, they will one day have to give account of God for all the people they pushed away from God.

I don't know. It is something I hate, and am very wary of. If anyone near me starts anything like that, I run the other way and avoid them like the plague. I think it's really ignorant and disrespectful. I don't know why they do it, pure egotism I guess, believing that they have some big cosmic answer that the rest of us are too inferior to grasp. A lot of things make me happy. Nobody has the right to assume that what makes them happy is something I need.

Hold your horses sis. These people mean you no harm. They are overzealous believers who think you need to be "saved" whether you like it or not. The worst they can do to you really is to annoy you with invitations, offering their "friendship", and "praise the lord" with them.
Just say Alleluia and they're gone.
On the second thought, why not accept their invitation just for once. LOL.

Noone pushes their religion on the other .. maybe its just a topic u might not like discussing .. there can be ofcourse several reasons for it .. most of the people who are confident about their own religion .. to them its like discussing anyother usual topics
Its good to know about the religion of others .. it gives u things to think about and ponder on others point of views .. thru this u can correct your own beliefs or people could benifit from yours ..
and if you dont like it .. then tell them so !

I find that "annoying" myself. Christians (I live with one and talk to many online) will tell you that it is their mission in life to share the word of God to all. I don't know about other religions but I would assume the same. The only religious people "recruiting" I have heard from was Christians.

I don't know thats a good question. However if they are bothering you simply reply to them by saying " Well its a sin to push your religion on other people. So I think you should remove your hands from the keyboard and pray for forgiveness."
Everyone have a right to their own religion and everyone haves the right to not have people forcing their religion on them.

I've always just thought that those who believe in their faith the least need the reassurance of others to validate their beliefs. Example: I have faith that my husband loves me. I do not need to convince anyone else to believe that he loves me. If I had any doubts that he loved me and I did not want to admit them, I would try to convince others to believe and reassure me of his love. I hope that made sense.

simply because they're blindly following their holy scriptures and hope to impress their god to be in heaven one day
these lot they're afarid to make not even one sin but they can't truly differentiate between a sin and wrong doings
they're good deeds calculative, but did'nt realized the sins they've done from day 1 and they'll beg for a place in heaven
and some are even willing to die for their religion cos they think they'll be martyrs and have a place in heaven
honestly, they're fooled by god himself for their blindness and selfishness cos he himself demands strictly for those with brains to think carefully of what's been said in the holy books
one thing for sure, they'll still remain on this earth after death for their good deeds
