The 23rd and 24th of September are also referred to as Rosh Hashanah, the Hebrew new year. But consider this. Romans 3:20 says "Therefore, by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin." Romans 8:2 says, "For the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death." Galatians 2:16 says, "Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ and not the works of the law, for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified." These scriptures show that for Christians to celebrate Rosh Hashanah is not necessary, and shows a trusting in the Law of Moses instead of trusting in Christ. Ephesians 2: 8-9 says, "For by grace are ye saved by faith, and that not of yourselves. It is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast." If you wish to celebrate this feast, fine. But know that Christ's death on the cross freed us from this and it is not necessary for you to celebrate Jewish holidays.
