Darwin proposed Natural Selection, which is part of the evolution theory.
Basically here what it explains (an example) : If there r tall pea plants and short pea plants in a valley where there is lots of violent winds, the tall pea plants r likely to bend and break their stems. Tall pea plants start dying, while the short pea plants (uneffected by the wind because they r short) flower, get pollenated, and produce seeds. The seeds carry the gene that make the plant grow short. The seeds get distributred in the valley by birds and other mammls. So, the population of the short plants grow and thrive. The short plants were naturally the fittest so they thrived over the tall plants.

Now, for those of you that don't accept the theory of evolution, what do you think about this part of the theory (Natural Selection)?
The explination above can be applied to plants and animals. Does the example I gave not seem logical???

NOTE: I am not trying to convert you, just get your opinon.

I don't understand how eternal marriage can be believed?

On the mormon website it says "The Bible and the Book of Mormon are the word of God." It also says they believe in eternal marriage ( http://www.mormon.org/learn/0,8672,1597-1,00.html ) and quote Matthew 16:19: "And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."

But if you read in six chapters later in Matthew 22:29-30 it says:
" Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven"

That is a contradicting in beliefs. So as I see it - you either believe the bible or something that man came up with (like the book of mormon).

Why claim to believe the bible? When it comes down to it - you have to choose between the two books.

Of 433 verses of Isaiah in the Nephite record, Joseph Smith modified about 233. Some of the changes made were slight, others were radical. However, 199 verses are word for word the same as the old English version" (Sperry 1968, 507).

Soon enough there will be no paper money, no dollars and no cents. Everyone will have a credit line of some sort, which will be a person’s source of sustenance. What lies in the future for mankind? I can guess with the best of them, and I think my guesses my hit home for some, and for some…oh I’m just a heretic madman. I eat food, I drink water, and I was born from a woman as well as from a man. To the common mind, that would make me human. Well as a human being I see things that could be detrimental to our well being as a race.
We as Americans are comfortable compared to other countries in this world, basking in our freedom, and by my opinion we should bask away! We are free!! But…freedom doesn’t mean doing immoral things just because you can. That is not freedom. The concept of morals that many in society have without a doubt were birthed upon religious foundations.
A common belief in a God, who will be coming back to harvest the righteous from the evils this world was infected with. This God made rules and sent a message of understanding to man, that his rules were meant not only to be preached about, but to be followed. Many of these rules from God that we understand to be righteous; are that way not because we know they are righteous, but because we also feel that it is. For example, helping those in need, or giving your time to do a good duty. You not only know that this is good within your mind, but you feel internally that it is good. Could that be your soul you feel? And if we have a soul doesn’t that prove that there is a God? Because this God we all know, no matter which religion, this God has told us about our souls. Thousands and thousands of years ago, when men were writing on papyrus and there were no cars, or computers, or planes, there was without dispute a belief in a God who talks to his creation and informs them that they are spiritual, of the spirit, the force, the energy, we contain souls!!! You know you have one…

My question is, do you know that you have a soul? Or better yet…do you know your God?

Hi, my dad is christian, which is irrelevant. But my question is this, why do the christians believe that they are 100% right. About religion, about evolution. it is impossible to believe this: to believe in adam and eve, and not believe in evolution, becouse chinesse have black hair, and english have blonde hair. this is due to their possition in earth. if anyone has a thought, please answer

Often Jews see Islam and Christianity as errant younger siblings, Christians often see their faith as a fulfilment of Judaism while dismissing Islam as false, and many Muslims understand themselves to be the completion of both Christianity and Judaism. However, the three are three very different religions but is there a way possible for Jews, Muslims and Christians to share their faith perspectives while respecting the integrity of the other two? Silly quips WILL be deleted.

I am not a wiccan, but am just trying to learn more. You state, or most of you state, that you worship the Goddess Mother being the earth and the moon and her male consort, being the Sun and the stars. Does this therefore mean that you believe the earth, stars, moon and sun to be the gods themselves? Is there none above them then, they being the highest order of the gods? Who or what is the greatest? Is there a creator?
