Genesis 3:7-13

7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

Explanations from above verse: Once again: Eating apples doesn't make you ashamed of your nakedness! But losing your innocence and your virginity certainly can. We also notice that they didn't make masks to cover mouths that had just eaten apples; they made aprons to cover their 'private parts...'

What was the fruit? I read somewhere that it was a quince. It's quite a bit like an apple, but courser and not nearly as sweet, at least the one I ate once was like that. It seems kind of a shame, getting tossed out like that over a piece of fruit that wasn't even that tasty.

After they ate it, they had knowledge and weren't innocent and ignorant any more like all the animals that still run around naked

Good and bad twins? Beats me. One must have just been a bad apple.

They were not to eat from the tree in the midst [middle ], of the garden. The fruit is not named, there could have been dozens just like the one in the middle, Adam had been told not to eat from it or touch it. He told Eve, that is evident. Satan told her she would be as god [ I asume he meant like angels that do not die Luke 20:34-36; but did sin Jude 6; 2Pet.2:4 ]; as Satan desired to cause her to disobey all that God had said.

It was such a small and simple thing, do not touch the tree in the middle of the garden, if you do you will die.

She or they already had eyes and could see, but they felt ashamed and it showed as they wanted to cover up and hide from the one who told them not to touch the tree, and by this, God knew they were guilty of disobedience, and where would the blame be placed now? Adam blamed the woman, she blamed the Serpent and the guilt was an open book,
We are still being fruitful and multiplying and filling the earth and dying and turning to dust. Gen.3:19; Psm.49:14; 104.29.30. Rev.20:1-6,12,13; Heb.9:27;
1Cor.15:22; As in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

We will have a new heavens and a new earth Rev.21:1-5; Perfect as it was before Eden. Gal.4:26; Rev.21:9,10; Rev.3:12; We will have new parents, the heavely head of the body with Christ.

Many think the fruit was an apple but the Fruit
was in the shape of a serpent..
see Revelations! What fruit is in shape of a serpent? The Banana! It's a most tasteful fruit and holds alot more potassium than an apple. You need potassium for ability to hold knowledge. the apple doesn't provide that does it? Many Religions have had wars on whether it be the apple or banna and on other matters too! Does it really matter what the fruit was? I don't think so! To be Fruitful means to be of good measure and not be a fool. & If thou desirest it marry and multiply thyself with children!

spenderalla34,
Just so you know, I have a Strong's concordance and a lot of what Ron P said wasn't in there. Those words did not have the sexual connotations that he is reporting. I am noticing that his numbering is different, I wonder where he gets it. You may not be seeing the truth from him. Beware.

The Hebrew word is not specific to the type of fruit. The apple is the traditional thinking, however, it could have been an apple, but by the same methodology, it could have been a loquat.

It is interesting though to note that the Genus for apple is the Latin word; Malus, pronounced, MALICE.

The fruit they ate was supposed to be an apple. They tree it came from was the tree of knowledge. Now they KNOW shame, Knowledge of Modesty, Knowledge of guilt. They now have to live outside of God's protection and make decisions on their own, They are no longer protected from sin by God's love and guidance. They have to make their decisions based on the experience of their past choices. In other words they are on their own.

Yes God told them before they ate the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil. They knew that they were naked because the perversion of God's original plan came in. Before then, God covered them with His glory, after He covered them with animal skins.

3 But of the fruit of the tree*1 which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it*2, neither shall ye touch*3it, lest ye die.

Explanations from above verse: *1 fruit of the tree = Hebrew word # 6529 periy- fruit, in a wide sense: a) fruit, produce (of the ground), or b) fruit, offspring, children, progeny ( used of the womb), or figuratively c) fruit (of actions). *2 eat of it = Hebrew word #398; 'akal (aw-kal'); This word has many uses, among which, one use means to lay with a woman (which is a sexual act). *3 touch = Hebrew word # 5060; naga` (naw-gah'); Properly, to touch, ie: to lay the hand upon (for any purpose); euphemism for: to lie with a woman.

Satan did more than talk that day
why would they cover their private parts after it was "said and done"

2006-09-09 02:06:33 · answer #7 · answered by Anonymous · 1 0

The fruit that they ate was the fruit that gave them knowledge of good and evil. It made them aware of their own senses. Until that time, they were under God's control. Now they are on their own control. Sin entered through that control system. Now the system controls us and we are helpless. What a pity!!!

But God provided a way out. Through Jesus Christ. Adam's sin was cancelled out through Jesus' sacrificial death on the cross and we have regained paradise lost.
