Hi, my dad is christian, which is irrelevant. But my question is this, why do the christians believe that they are 100% right. About religion, about evolution. it is impossible to believe this: to believe in adam and eve, and not believe in evolution, becouse chinesse have black hair, and english have blonde hair. this is due to their possition in earth. if anyone has a thought, please answer

I keep getting this "atheist think they are 100% right," I dont think im right, i cannot tell you there is a god or not, i cannot tell you weather the bible is true or not, i just find the odds of it being true very very very low. I cannot tell you if there is a heave, it just doesn't work that way, if im wrong well to bad ill try better next time, if you are wrong, you are screwed, and there goes your lifestyle, and everything you believe in.

also alot of christians are so caught up in abortion, same sex marriage, and the whole FAITH thing, thaey they have forgotten about more important things like the war, and ofcourse our current inflation rate. I believe that this is wrong. Abortion, and same sex marriage should be last thing on our mind!!

what makes you think there even is power to christ, what makes you think he wasn't a fraud, i think darwin might have been off on his theories, even he was sceptical. But why won't christians accept the possiblity that they might be wrong?

I dont think that we as Christian think that we are 100% correct. NO one is perfect and no one has all the awnsers at least not here on earth.

We read the Bible and learn from it ... that is where we get out beliefs and that is where we base out facts.

I think that they're scared to admit that they could be wrong about one thing in their religion because that would mean they would have to reexamine the whole thing. They don't want to do that because there were many things added that WERE NOT in the teachings of Christ, which they claim to support, but which the Church (and the Council of Nicea) at the time thought would be good to have. There were also things that were deleted and opinions that were ignored. There was a whole sept, for instance, that believed that Jesus was a good man and a prophet but that he wasn't the son of god. This sept was thrown out of the Coucil of Nicea (I think one of the first ones) and hunted down until as many as the Church could find were dead. The same thing happened many times, with knowledge and options being lost each time, until there are so many questions that would be raised if the Christians were to admit to SOME things being wrong that they won't admit to any.

Also, their religion also has the unfortunate clause that it states that it is the only valid religion and that a happy afterlife can only come to those who believe in it fully and repent any sins--even if they sin every day instead of trying to better themselves and stop sinning. It's a very strange system, I have to say. I prefer straight-up consequences, which is probably why I stopped being Christian as a young teenager and became Wiccan at the age of 16. I, personally, believe that there is absolutely NO way to know what is right or wrong when it comes to religion, so I do what makes me happy and what fits the most with my personal beliefs, instead of trying to make justifications if I believe something that my religion says I shouldn't.

Oh, and the hair color/skin color thing--that's not evolution, that's adaptation. I believe in evolution, but the closest you could come to saying the dark hair/blond hair differences are is micro-evolution, which is the same as adaptation and in no way makes us a different species than those with other hair/skin/facial types. Species differentiation is something that comes along with evolution, such as the differences between a lion and a leopard. There are several criteria for judging when a species has split into two, and none of the races of human fall under that.

Christian's believing this way isn't because of arrogance or spite or pride or anything like that, but because it is true... they know this because the Spirit of God has witnessed the truth of it in their hearts and in their minds. Those who do not want to believe or who fight the truth or try to explain their way out of it do not leave room for the Spirit to enter therein and teach them the truth. The Spirit knows the truth to all things, and to them that seek the truth will find it, through the Spirit, and those who do not care about the truth, but merely scientific fact, have no place for the Spirit. They are unholy, and the spirit does not dwell in unholy places or people.

The reason why all of us are different is because of how God has done things.
In the Bible it teaches in the beginning that Adam and Eve had two sons: Cain and Abel. Cain slew Abel out of sheer jelousy, hatred, and also because he made a pact/promise/covenent with Satan to do so and in return he was promised power and wealth, which is generally what any wicked man wants in this world.
As a result of this God took the Power of God from Cain and punished him that he and his posterity would not possess the Power of God again until they'd proven to God that they'd repented and changed and become "new beings" of light and understanding. As part of the curse, and also a sign of the curse, was that he would have black skin and so would all his children and anybody who mixed his seed with Cain's seed would have black children. And thus it is until this time. Although the black people have been allowed the Power of God again, so most of the curse has been lifted.
Another part of the Bible teaches about a tower of Babel. Babel means Babble. This word is because all the people were building a tall tower, the tallest ever, to reach into Heaven so that they could SEE the thrown of God, and be close to him. See, they did not believe in the power of prayer nor did they believe in the Power of God or the Power of His Spirit, so they wanted PROOF of God so they built this tower. Because they were so wicked and God would not stand for such a blasphemous thing to be done, and because he'd warned them, he cursed them all with differen languages. Each man had a different language so that not a single person could understand one another.
To make a long story shorter, there was one righteous man, who was keeping the record of course, and he prayed to God so that his family and closest kindred, or friends, could understand each other. God blessed them with this.
The Oriental/Asian peoples we do not have records of because we have not yet recieved them. The truth is that ALL people, during all time and in every place has had righteous, and not righteous, people who have kept records of their people. Some have yet to be discovered, but many have already been discovered or simply handed down generation to generation until now. (these have been manipulated with a lot so the messages are not complete nor are they exactly pure).
So, we don't know the exact reason why Asians/Oriental have different looks than others, etc.

I know this was a long answer, and I shortened it the best I could without leaving out important facts and data, but there's A LOT more where that came from.

The fundamental truths about the Bible are 100% right the same way someone can say"America has a space shuttle." See, 100% truth.I admit their are things though that some believers can get to debate about like when Jesus was on earth, or when the tribulation will be. Things like that are based on opinion and no christian knows 100% for certain when theses things did or will occur.

I am a christian and as far back as I can remember I have always believed in God. I do believe that man has evolved but I do not believe that man was once an ape. The Lord says seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened, ask and you shall receive. If you want to find God you will. Some Christians complicate God's plan and others try to shape it to fit their own selfish desires. Try reading the Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth....BIBLE and then decide for yourself. It makes sense to me but like I said I have always believed that God exists, also God loves me and man complicates everything!!!!

Is there anything you believe you are 100% right about? What is your name? Are you 100% right about it? Then if absolute truths do exist - someone just may be 100% right about evolution, religion, etc.
I doubt anyone believes they are 100% right about religion or evolution - there is just too much we cannot understand, but if someone doesn't believe in their faith, they don't have much business following that faith do they?

If you have trouble believing in the Bible, check if out further. Lee Strobel was a journalist who wanted to see if the evidence for the Bible could hold up in court. He was an atheist. He's not now. Check out his book, A Case for Christ. See if that gives you what you are looking for.

There is also a difference between adaptation and evolution. Adaptation is changes in skin and hair color, etc to adapt to the environment. Though environmental adaptations do not explain most of the differences we see (evidence for creativity)! As far as evolution, no one has ever seen it! There is no evidence any species has ever evolved into another species.

Yeah, I dont think you talking about your dad is irrelevant, it's completely relevant because that's why it bugs you so much that christians are so intense (believe me, I have the same situation). I'd always tell my mom, you're never 100% sure that there's a god until the day he comes down and says 'hey'. But, who cares, you should be happy that your dad believes in something whole heartedly like his religion, I'm sure there could be worse... right?

Not sure what you're really asking but here's what I think the answer is: There is a wealth of evidence for the Bible, the God of the Bible and His hand in creation.

Look at the manuscript evidence, the archeological evidence, prophecy and statistical evidence. Look around you. Think! Do you really think that the random motion of random molecules permit you to think? Or caused the universe to exist for even one second?

I don't think real Christians think they are 100% right. What happens is that once you've looked at the evidence and experienced the presence of the living God (hard to explain if you haven't) you're pretty darned convinced.

I don't think any Christian would think that they are 100% right about anything. Only the Lord is perfect. We all have sins, and yes, Even us Christians are not without sin in our lives! Evolution is pretty much disproven at this point in time. No real evidence of monkeys turning into people. Just extinct ape bones of different ages in time.

Well, I am a christian. And as a christian, I don't believe that I am 100% right. Because, there is no one perfect in this world. God is only the one who is perfect.
I believe there is God because of what is happening to me, I am so blessed everyday when i thank Him and praise Him, and I accept Him as my personla saviour here in my heart. God is so powerful.. I am 23 and I was so glad and full of happiness when I graduated my highschool. I thanked God so much. Then, my friend's brother is so so ill. It can be so dangerous and could be next to death. They are catholic anyway, then she come with me to church, a christian church. Her father come too because he wants to be with my friend to be guarded by him. His father was a smoker, drinks a lot of beer. After the church, he was in tears and he was so blessed, he jumped for joy. He throw the cigarrettes in his pockets. The next day, they were a real christian and accepted God. Then they asked for healness of my friend's brother. When they entered the room, her brother was playing his playstation. Then they go to the doctor and the doctor was so amused of what happened. No sickness at all! It was a miracle. I believe God is good everytime, everyday.

Because their dogma does not leave room for questioning. People who think that atheists and agnositcs believe themselves 100% accurate, don't know a thing about being a non-believer. Humanists, and even some who practice non Christian faiths, are open to be proven wrong. Science only operates on the premise of known, and varifiable data. They believe it when they see it. The Christian believes it, because the alternative is too painful, and frightening, to contemplate. They are not intellectually adventurous people.
