I am not a wiccan, but am just trying to learn more. You state, or most of you state, that you worship the Goddess Mother being the earth and the moon and her male consort, being the Sun and the stars. Does this therefore mean that you believe the earth, stars, moon and sun to be the gods themselves? Is there none above them then, they being the highest order of the gods? Who or what is the greatest? Is there a creator?

The moon is a feminine symbol. The Sun masculine. They are not Gods.
Most believe in a Creator. Some have specific pantheons they work with in addition to honoring a patron deity.

Edit : As far as diety is concerned, most pagans believe in A Goddess, and a God. Instead of the Christian belief where there is only ONE supreme being and that he is male, pagans choose to believe that everything in nature has a duality...a male and female side, and therefore so should Spirit. Although believing in both a Goddess and God are central to pagan beliefs, it should be noted that there are feminist pagan groups who only believe in a Goddess, and other groups that believe that there are many Gods and many Goddesses (representing different aspects of nature). No, we don't really believe that the sun is a being, just that the Sun represents the God, and the Earth and Moon represent The Mother Goddess. The Earth is a living breathing entity, that is why we revere nature and try to protect it. I suppose the easiest description for the Gods is that they are simply spirits, much like we have inside ourselves. They are not omnipotent and all seeing and miracle workers. They do not control the world, nor do they control anything we do. We simply call upon them for guidance when we are uncertain, for a little power when we are weak.

I'm not sure how helpful I was at explaining it, I'm never good at explanations!

Oh, and they didn't create us in the same way the Christian God created the world and universe in 7 days. To DAVID G above me, we all understand how we came about in different ways. I believe that when the Big Bang happened, all the spirits came into existence somehow, and we are simply part of that same collection. Maybe once we were all one and the same, but I don't know, I wasn't there, or rather, I can't recall being there!

ALL things contain spirit which connects us all together. this is what makes up the whole cloth rather than just separated facets of the whole.
Spirit is the greatest. yes you can call it the CREATOR.
all else is just facets of it.
The Lord and the Lady and Spirit are the trinity. Spirit gives form to the lord and lady which give birth to the spirit and so on.
to put it in Christian form i hope. Before the Creation of the Physical universe the CREATOR spunoff from its body sparks that became the souls of ALL THAT WAS AND WILL BE.When the CREATOR made the physical universe these sparks were embedded into all of the objects as the CREATOR is all and everything.
I may get more than some flak from the different sects of Wicca about this thinking and wording.

The moon and sun are representations of the goddess and god, as well as every other part of nature. There is no "greatest" among forces. Everything works together and the union between goddess and god is the force behind creation. Different sects have various views on exactly how things fit together, but that's the summary of it.

from what i understand, they consider the earth, etc, to be the physical MANIFESTATION of the gods.
