Now how do we know that. all we know is that people over there were fighting with Russia. Each other and doing terrorist attacks in Africa and around the world. How could the US train people in Afghanistan? And it never made the 6 o clock news?
CNN never heard of it? I find that hard to believe it wasn't in the news. If the USA is so good at training people why are they having such a hard time training people in Iraq? Maybe Afghanistan should give them some pointers.

Sadly, the US gov't DID provide training and aid to the islamic rebels during the USSR occupation.
It is sad, and a black mark against Reagan!

Why would they do anything they felt benefited the US?? The terrorist's mission can't be taught by US soldiers. It seems some terrorists may have been (stupidly) trained by US military to the benefit of US military at the time, but again the terrorist mission can't be taught by military, only deeply disturbed religious leaders.

Many of the groups that are terrorist today started as freedom fighters who were supported by the US, but they were not terrorist at the time. Many of these groups warped by extreme religious ideas sadly "used" the US and its support and then turned its back on the US, and then even worst they then decided to destroy the US and the entire West.
So the actual fighters we are fighting today, no they were not trained by the US but their groups were orgianlly.

Yes, We the USA helped them not to be taken over by communism! (No religion, that is.)

To jihad and rid the world of fitnah (disbelief in Allah) sounds counterproductive. Even muslim's make fun of Spanish "Crusades" for their cruel tactics. You think they would learn from history. It is counterproductive to kill a soul to win souls...In regards to the Surah 5:32 "prevent the spread of corruption in the world" Isn't it better to preach, reform and live by example like the Prophets, instaed of slaughter and masacre God's creations? It is much better to see a sinner change his ways and Love God than to see a sinner, sinned against through murder... (oximoron) The Prophets never killed. I LOVE your post! Regarding surah8:39 The USA is not "unbelievers" but are as the Quaran says "people of the book!" We Christains and Bible believers Love the Holy Creator! We have a right to be on God's green earth where ever, like every other creation is. God is everywhere, he is Omnipresent! He gave us life and is still breading Christians! :^)

Why kill our innocent women and children living their daily lives=9/11? Why not fight Army to Army, men to men? WHICH THEY SHOULDN'T even do that! But we Love God, so how could those men on the planes cry out to Allah and commit suicide and mass murder thinking it is for their faith. ONLY GOD KNOWS OUR HEARTS!

they were trained and supplied by the US government and back in the late 80s there were called Mujahedeen by the US government.
