I just don’t get it….the bible I mean.

It plainly says women are to be quiet in church, and they are not to rule over man. Yet Christians allow female preachers every day.

It plainly states that Jesus made water into wine, yet Christians say that drinking is a sin.

The Old and New Testament conflict – and Christians say the Old Testament is invalid, yet they still print it every time.

It plainly states that God created only Adam and Eve. Therefore their children had to marry to populate the Earth yet incest is a sin.

It plainly states the world was created in a day – when we know it took many years to create the Earth that is fact.

We have found numerous fossils, skulls and bones PROOVING that man has evolved physically, yet Christians deny this to be true.

It never mentions the dinosaurs at all…yet they roamed the Earth.

Does anyone care to comment?????

I have heard arguments against evolution that it is improbable. But an omnipotent, omniscient being, who looks like us and loves us and has no origin is the absolute supreme improbability. That seems infinity times crazier than pigs flying out of my butt.

Do both the father & mother have to be there (what if one is deceased).

Also can a grandparent (or 2) take the infant (with permission) to be baptized if the parents cannot? Thank you

I should have been more clear when asking that last question:
Nickname devlsadvoct? Do we really want info. from this person?

I just wanted to emfisize on this comment:
"seem to spend 1/2 of my time on YA! dispelling myths / outright lies regarding science and evolution. It's a dirty job, but someone has to do it!"

No I am not at all intimidated by his questions or comments. For those who believe that there is more evidence to evolution than there is to back up the God of the Holy Bible you obviously have not done your research or you are just in denial. The truth of God is increased through your lie to His glory. Evolution is one of the biggest lies ever told about history. If anyone would like to publically state the evidences to the inaccuracey of the "religion" of evolution and the evidence of the accuracy of the Holy Bible please feel free to right back.

"The beauty of religious mania is that it has the power to explain everything. Once God (or Satan) is accepted as the first cause of everything which happens in the mortal world, nothing is left to chance...logic can be happily tossed out the window."
[Stephen King]
"You see, one thing is, I can live with doubt and uncertainty and not knowing. I think it's much more interesting to live not knowing than to have answers which might be wrong. I have approximate answers and possible beliefs and different degrees of uncertainty about different things, but I am not absolutely sure of anything and there are many things I don't know anything about, such as whether it means anything to ask why we're here... I don't have to know an answer. I don't feel frightened not knowing things, by being lost in a mysterious universe without any purpose, which is the way it really is as far as I can tell. It doesn't frighten me."
[Richard P. Feynman, "Genius, the life and science"]

What would Jesus have to say?

1 Cor 13:4-5 - Love is patient (Ps 7:11 - God is angry with the wicked every day. Ps 2:12 - Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little.), love is kind, it does not envy (Deut 4:24 - For the Lord your God is a devouring fire, a jealous God.), it does not boast, it is not proud (Job 41:34 - He beholdeth all high things: he is a king over all the children of pride.), it is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered (Ps 2:12 again), it keeps no record of wrongs (Deut 5:9 - for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me). Could a xian please explain this?

(Though often accused of being an atheist, I'm actually agnostic.)

Atheists: don't you make assumptions about the "god" issue that can't be tested or proven in any way?

Isn't it true that absence of evidence =/= evidence of absence ?

Why do you assume that no god exists if you can't demonstrate this?

Does it all come down to Occam's Razor and parsimony to you?

Isn't there a logical possiblity that you're wrong?

(that was fun... it has been a while since I picked on you guys! Know that I just want to see your perspectives ... I'm not attacking... I'd say that I'm playing the "devils advocate" but some nutjobs here go berzerk when they hear that term)

They can demonstrate thinking-therefore-i-aming with all their clever sign language I read about in National Geographic in 1978, they nurture their young and often mate for life: they have a society structure...there must be a place for them Heaven in that case surely. Religion endorses sharing values, caring for the young, the exhibit all these things

However, they okay natural law and murder each other, kill their children, throw poo around and display homosexual tendencies when their mood arises...they are definitely going to hell then, right?

How do clever monkeys fit into the general scheme of things then?
they ain't dumb animals
