If you believe in God... where did it come from, if you believe in the big bang or something similar, surely some matter would have been needed, where did that come from?

This was my answer to a very similar question...

The universe as we know it today, or at least what we can see of it, was formed in the big bang. But the energy that started all that was already there, just in a different form. In fact there was never really a beginning as such. The idea that everything has to have a beginning and end is just a human concept that stems from our lifecycle of birth and death. Time and space don’t work like that. Time cannot have a beginning because there would have had to be a time before it began. Space can not have an end because what would you call the space beyond it? Energy is the same, it can’t be created or destroyed, only changed.

Time & Space are just infinite.

E=mc^2. The mass we see before us came from the existence of a huge amount of energy. Was that God?

its difficult to answere this question using a 3 dimensions oriented mind, then explaining for a 3 dimensions oriented mind


if we could exploit the 4th dimension of time probabaly we could arrive at factual answers.

I believe God created everything. I believe God always was and always will be. Then he created heaven and earth.

God, who always was and always will be is purely spirit....not matter. He created matter for the big bang....
