They can demonstrate thinking-therefore-i-aming with all their clever sign language I read about in National Geographic in 1978, they nurture their young and often mate for life: they have a society structure...there must be a place for them Heaven in that case surely. Religion endorses sharing values, caring for the young, the exhibit all these things
However, they okay natural law and murder each other, kill their children, throw poo around and display homosexual tendencies when their mood arises...they are definitely going to hell then, right?
How do clever monkeys fit into the general scheme of things then?

I think all animals have got souls... I was convinced by that by the movie "All dogs go to heaven" - If ugly and stupid people can go to heaven... (Especially those who are completely ignorant, but still want to flap their jaws...) then I feel that monkeys (who will in any case eventually take over the world) most certainly go to heaven... I think more people should throw poo around, especially in parliament... some politicians needs a bit of poo in the face... :o)

do they have a moral conscience? do other monkeys think it is wrong when they kill a fellow monkey or fling poo? is there remorse for homosexual tendencies. It seems that humans are different in that we are aware of our moral standing. People go to Hell because they know the law (of God) and do not follow it. They are redeemed from Hell by Christ being their propitiation (atonement for sin). Monkeys as far as I understand are not aware of the work of Christ on the cross nor are they aware of the law.

I can only speak for myself... When I sneak into heavens, it isn't really a place I like staying at for long .. the choral hymns give me a headache and it is just boring .. but from time to time I sneak in there to plunder .. and make off with some celestial bananas for my crude cohorts in the jungles below...
Now for where monkkind fits in to that cosmogeny wosmogeny and chain of being theorem, I neither know nor care ... So.. short answer .. we sneak in on stealing raids .. it bores us though .. and we quickly leave ...

dolphins, dogs, pigs even rodents can be trained to do some interesting things. It's mimicking based on a reward system, monkey see-monkey do. I wouldn't worry about the animals, they don't have that penchant for corruption that we do, they'll probably be all over heaven.

It is silly to continue thinking about these places called heaven and hell. It is similarly silly to think of species outside of humanity to be lesser beings. A critical shift is occuring in humanity where we are begining to grasp this, and look more deeply. Please dont impede the evolution of humanity by fostering and promoting such ridiculous notions.
