Does your life really have meaning after embracing these irrational beliefs?

is it holy because god approves it?

Kind of silly to ask Him in if you don't have any intention to follow Him. You either have faith, or you don't.

And if faith is a gift from God, why do you need to ask Jesus into your heart? He's already there through the faith God has given you, yes? Why would you have go through a "formula" of acceptance, unless you want to make yourself out to be in charge of God?
And if you think you have the free will to reject the faith given to you, isn't that like saying, "I don't want to believe what I believe"?
It follows then, that if God didn't give you your faith, you won't have any (and your only "free choice" is against Him) and if He did give you faith, then you have it and you can't turn it down, you believe and you want to believe.

Can you imagine how much Allah hates a pig ear that's been chewed on by a dog? It would be all covered with dog saliva! That's like double haram! What would you do if you were a groundskeeper and you found a pig ear with dog spit all over it?

It has to be a mental disease to believe in a man in the clouds and that dead people can float away to a place called heaven.

Religious believers are quick to suggest that humanities problems have nothing to do with religion, it’s just bad choices of interpretation by individuals.

If you genuinely believe that humanities problems are not caused by religion, but by individuals who interpret religion the wrong way, then why not protect children from any form of religious teachings until they are adult and have a free unbiased mind to choose.

So many people have been criminally brainwashed from early childhood about religion and how they will be punished, that even today when in their hearts they know what they’ve been taught is false, they are just too scared to speak out or walk away from religion, without the help and support of others.

Is it time to think, learn and walk away from religion once and for all. Let’s make Earth a happy planet without all this wickedness.

Ive noticed many responses from people indicating that they would have no hope in life without beleif in God. Ive also heard the statement from many beleivers "What exactly DO you beleive in?" Another response Ive seen is "You have to prepare for eternal life...God ensures me that if there is an afterlife, Ill be there."

I guess I have a few questions... Do many of you beleive simply as a CYA (Cover Your Azz) option? I mean, do you beleive only because youre afriad of what death and the "other side" may hold for you, and this religion provides as answer to that unknown??

WHY do you feel the need to have hope in life? Is not the desire to want to live right, love and experience life "hope" enough?

And, WHY do you feel the need to BELEIVE in something, over the need/desire to KNOW something?

These are serious questions from an Atheist. I wish no one any offense by posing this question. Peace and Love.

So there's this little old man. God tells him to save the World so he builds a boat.

So he goes around the World, picking up 2 of every animal. He gets elephants, rhinos, gorillas, kangaroos, snakes, dogs, mice, bears, polar bears, cheetahs, bears, lions etc.

So he goes from Northern Canada to the Amazon jungle to accomplish this. Not only that, he finds a male and female to accompany him (even with mice and snakes which do not easily distinguished).

He then takes them on a boat and feeds then for 40 days. None of them die. None of them eat eachother or fight.

And life on Earth is saved as we know it.

Will someone explain this to me in normal, everyday terms that normal, everyday people will understand? (The magic man answer will not work)

When I have in the past asked atheists why they are atheists, I have been told that there is no evidence that God exists and therefore atheism is the logical result.

But as you can see from:

and:

Atheism is NOT the logical result of a lack of evidence for God's existence. Rather agnosticism is the strictly logical response to a lack of evidence.

So is there any logical basis at all for atheism?

If the flying spaghetti monster does not exist, than how do you explain the decreasing number of pirates to the increasing problem of Global warming? Surely this is not a coincedence...Just use your noodles. Global warming up=pirates # down. It is not tht difficult. I am tired of all you ignorant atheists saying something that makes no since. (also be aware that any flaw you find in this is actually just put in place by the FSM himself to throw off non-believers) Plz..I really care about you guys finding the light and the true creator. How else will you get your beer volcano and stripper?

Ramen.

Is it possible to dream up any observation... ANYTHING that you can make up which, if true, would DISprove god's existance?

It would have to be something where I couldn't come up with an explanation for after the fact which would make it possible that god still exists.

If you cannot falsify something, then you cannot claim under the rules of logic to have evidence consistent with that something. (all observations would carrry zero weight in verifying the assertion)
Karl Popper wrote extensively about how if hypothetical evidence against something cannot exist, then logically neither can evidence FOR that thing exist.

.
.

What does this prove?
Nothing.

It proves that neither atheists* nor theists can claim to have evidence to support the existance or non-existance of god.
Anyone who claims otherwise is either very uninformed or lying.

(*the atheistic position is however bolstered by the principle of parsimony, but that's for another time)

Please tell us why we need God... I know many atheists/agnostics/non-theists will say their life is doing just fine without your God.
