That thread spurred my thoughts.

The posters tend to mass accept that occult, is the same as cult.

How does one go about educating the masses that their definitions of what they are confused about are creating negativity, pain, and suffering in life?

Since most christians only regard the books in the canonized bible (as decided upon in 370a.d.) as scritpure; Should there be a new council where newly discovered text's from many different cultures and continents can be considered and examined and eventually be accepted as scripture. For example maybe a re-examination of the Gnostic Gosples (with an open mind, and not in a combative spirit) would, or would not prove useful.

Do you think it’s possible that human intelligence as we understand it to be, is in fact intelligence controlled by a higher intelligence in another dimension, and everything we think and believe to be true is in fact virtual?

I have accepted Christ as my savior. I mean, God did the "accepting" of us because of the actions of Jesus Christ. Maybe that's where people misunderstand us, and think we believe we are better when nothing could be further from the truth.

So.........if someone says to a Christian, "You seem different, what's up with you?" should they say, "God accepted me."...??

Nah, that doesn't sound right either. Floundering here...what do you guys think?

We muslims believe in ONE god ALLAH who has no SON and no ASSOCIATES. We believe in peace and killing of another human being is a SIN and purnishable by HELL FIRE. Often the western media project Islam image by associating it with terrorism. This is the picture imposed on the minds of their audience. Islam has a proven record of tolerance throughout its history. Islam coexisted peacefully with Judism and Christianity in its proximity. Like any other community on earth, Muslims are allowed to defend themselves if attacked. If you think we Muslims are sinful by practising our religion and way of life on earth - Why don't you let your god purnish us in heaven / dooms day. Is your god weak to do so? Why do you take unjustified initiative to attack us and our ways/culture? Why do you think we should drink alcohol, practice sex outside wedlocks, get rid of our head covers (hijabs), expose our women faces (even undesirably by a woman by her self), etc - To demonstrate freedom? We say NO NO.

In the United States its obvious that the religious wrong is constantly manipulated for political gain.

All one has to do is give a little lip service to the Christ Cultists community, perhaps throw a little cash their way and you have an instant voter base. Sure they're idiots, but they're idiots who vote. Its no surprise that the masters of corruption (the GOP) are masters at this, not that the democrats are any different but they seem to have some semblance of whats right and wrong.

Then you have the actual religious leaders who run around with whores (not that theres anything wrong with that) and use their religious organizations as tax shelters for diamond mines in oppressive third world nations or ask for money because they claim their god will kill them if they dont meet some quota.

And sure enough they eat it up.

So whats the deal, are you stupid? Who am I kidding, sure you are.

This question is for everyone, religious believers and non-believers. What are your thoughts, hopes, and beliefs about the universe we live in? For instance, do you think scientists will discover that the universe had a beginning, or discover that it was created, or discover that God exists, or discover .... what are your thoughts?”

Consider these two aya's (verses) in the Quran:

Carrot >

Quran 4:74 "Let those fight in the cause of Allah Who sell the life of this world for the hereafter. To him who fighteth in the cause of Allah,- whether he is slain or gets victory - Soon shall We give him a reward of great (value)." http://cwis.usc.edu/dept/msa/quran/004.q...

Stick -

Quran 2:216 "FIGHTING IS PRESCRIBED FOR YOU (muslims), and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not." http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/quran/002.qmt.html#002.216

In the first aya, Allah is promising Muslims a "reward of great value" if they "fight" and are "slain or victorious". This is the simple carrot-approach that you might use with your child.

In the second aya, Allah insists that "fighting is prescribed" for you, so even if it feels wrong, you must murder for him otherwise you defy his will.

defined means: Belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence.

Why should I, a rational person, want anything to do with "faith"?

Why would you ever want faith? How can you honestly have faith in something like the Bible when we know for a fact it isn't true?

Faith=ignorance. Religous faith=killing and other bad things.

And yall walk around like its some badge of honor. Ever wonder why we're always laughing at you and not taking a word of your's seriosuly.

Ever wonder why intelligent people in history like Galileo, Da Vinci, Franklin, MAgellanm Newton, and Darwin wanted nothing to do with "faith"?

Faith is the surrender of the mind. It is pathetic and weak. Nothing to be proud of.

In his sermon on the mount, Jesus said, "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the Children of God. So now I am asking whether you think you are a peacemaker and why you feel that way, or if not, whom among the world leaders fills that role and why. I invite all people of all political persuasions, whether conservative, liberal, Republican or Democrat, Christian, Muslim, even Agnostic or Atheist to give me your thoughts on this. The only thing I ask is that you show respect for each other and that there is no bashing of another's viewspoint.

accepted or been saved by Jesus?
Doesn't it say in your own Book that you are to Judge not lest ye be Judged?
You and no one else knows where I am going when I die so I would be very careful how much you spout in this life about anyone but yourselves. Since I don't know and you don't know then I'd say we are on an even playing field. Not one of us has an edge, and don't call Jesus an edge since you really don't have absolute proof that he existed either. And I don't have proof that he didn't. So come up with you own argument for a change, not the one drilled into you by some religion.
Who agrees or disagrees and why?
