Galileo was a Christian.
Newton was a Christian.
Darwin was a Christian.
Magellan was a Christian.
Da Vinci was a Christian.
Benjamin Franklin was a Christian and signed a document called the Delcaration of Independence (perhaps you haven't heard of it, since your history is woefully shabby), which referred to God as existing.
You don't even know how to access material evidence, brother. It is not any wonder that you cannot access nonmaterial evidence.

How would you like to tell that to Dr Clark Pinnock. He is a Renouned Scholar, as you should know scholard don't believe the Bible, but, after researchin it heres what he wrote:
There exists no document from the ancient world
witnessed by so excellent a set of textual and his-
torical testimonies and offering so superb an array
of historical data on which an intelligent decision
may be made. An honest person cannot dismiss a
source of this kind. Skepticism regarding the his-
torical credentials of Cristianity is based upon
irrational bias.
Faith is pathetic and weak? Gee, guess no one told Goliath. That big giant of a man was taken down by that little guy David because he had Faith.
I say you are the weak one. For it takes more stregnth to walk alone than join the many.
Saying you know for a fact the Bible isn't true is also now saying you don't believe what scientists are telling you, THAT IT'S TRUE.
AND VERY VERY DESERVING TO BE PROUD OF.

My faith is not devoid of logic or reason. I simply do not rely on reason alone, nor do I trust it.
Your not appreciating faith in no way invalidates it.
Exactly how is the Bible not true? "For a fact" And who is "we" in that sentence?
"Religious faith=killing and other bad things" Again, please clarify--People do dumb things with or without faith, and lumping everyone into the same definition is prejudicial at best.
Of course, I'm sure those are the only intelligent people ever in history. Note that they are all scientists. ANd I'm pretty sure Darwin was interested in faith, as were Galileo and Newton. I'm not sure on the others.
"Faith is the surrender of the mind." My mind is fully engaged, thank you. You have faith too, you know--faith in your own reasoning ability. Why do you have faith in science? In your own observation, hypotheses, and analyses? Because it's all you can know with the five senses? How did you get to be so perfect? Sorry, I never mean to be rude on these things, but behind all your ranting is a very arrogant mind.
Go ahead, give me my thumbs down. And laugh all you want. YOu could just disagree with me, but I'm guessing you enjoy making yourself feel better by attacking those who you don't understand.

Hate to burst your bubble, but Darwin was a theist, not an atheist. He even "would often quote passages out of the bible to the ill-mannered sailors on board" the H.M.S. Beagle. While his faith naturally went through some blows after the death of his daughter, he always believed that there was some greater force that had created the world. He never thought God and evolution were mutually exclusive, as you clearly believe they are.
I believe it takes a great amount of strength to believe in something greater than yourself, and retain that belief despite the scorn and laughter of others. Faith, to me, is not pathetic or weak, nor is it the negating of other possibilities. It is a choice, an educated decision, and the fact that you would laugh at those who have made this decision shows only how insecure you are.
Yet even you have faith: faith that your opinion on this matter is ultimately the best one. You have no "logical proof or material evidence" backing up your claims, only your own fallible reasoning skills. Why should we have faith in your beliefs?
By the way, I am a rational person, like you claim to be. I simply fail to see why it would be rational to change my beliefs based on those of Galileo, Da Vinci, Franklin, Newton, and other men I don't know. I admire their studies, and I know that they are great thinkers, but it was not lack of faith that made them this way. Descartes' instruction to "Doubt Everything" is only the way to BEGIN forming a weltanschauung.

That is a false definition of faith.
Faith, particularly as used by apostolic writers, such as Paul, had nothing to do with this faith versus science dichotomy that men have developed for themselves.
Faith is an act of humility, not of ignorance.
Faith is belief that is contrary to the limited expressions of rational thought of which your individual mind is capable.
Faith is a rational act of confidence in a being outside of yourself.
Have you ever seen a child arguing with a parent, or an employee complaining about how an employer doesn't do things the right way.
Each of those individuals in their own minds has a well defined logic for why they doubt another human being. The truth is that is a logic based on ignorance, and that is why they should apply the tool of faith.
Since the beginning of human history men have proposed reasons for doubting God.
The enlightenment philosophers used a construct of rationalism to advocate their deistic concepts.
However, the so called clock maker analogy was an expression of cynicism, not of rationalism.
If I say that a rational being created the world and then never intervened miraculously that is an assumption of motives, not a proof of methods.
In my limited knowledge, what I call miracles, only occur as miracles in my consciousness because I lack the knowledge to see the mechanical reality behind the miracle.
Unbelief is the decision to accept your insignificant set of understandings contrary to the possibility of a higher knowledge.
In as much as men cannot cure cancer, create things from nothing, avert natural disasters caused by weather, raise their children well, have successful relationships, discipline themselves to avoid STDs, get good grades in school, make responsible financial decisions, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.
THEY HAVE PROVEN THAT THEY ARE LIKE CHILDREN, AND LIKE A CHILD, UNBELIEF IS ALWAYS A REAL POSSIBILITY WITH THEM, BECAUSE TRUTH IN FACT HAS NO BEARING ON THEIR MINDS.
Get a brain dumbshit before you start regurgitating some well worn little construct with which every dipsh*t from Harvard to San Diego State has tickled his own sense of big anti-Godness a thousand times.
By the way, Bro Bra', I have an IQ of 152, I am extremely well educated and well read in all of the literature and philosophy of the western world and not a little of the rest of the world.
Because of my religious faith I am very generous to homeless people and other people in need, etc. etc. etc.
I don't know that I have ever killed anyone because of my religious faith, and my one vice is my massive ego.
Faith is the conclusion of a very open and well informed mind, unlike your brilliant second hand syllogism.

Firstly you mentioned that Darwin didnt' have faith, hello do your research he rejected his evolutionary beliefs on his death bed. Also you cannot say that the Bible is not true, where is your proof. I think you just don't want to believe it and by bad mouthing it you are justifying your own hateful actions. God is there whether you believe in Him or not. I don't need to argue because I know where I am going when I die and I have no worries or fear while I am here. God has already won. I hate that you judge all Christians by the acts of the few extremists. That is not what Christianity is about.

If you have no faith in your spouse, then there is no trust, and that equals no love.
Religious faith is caring about yourself enough to critically look at your soul and base your feelings on that. How you feel. Humans can thrive with or without God, but there are some religious people who are more depressed than those that have no religion. And those that are depressed without faith, will look for reasons why instead of praying it away. I think it is what you do with your faith, not what it is that matters. So if you are looking to important people, here's a quote for you. I spent seven years atheist myself.
Thomas Jefferson said, "Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason, than that of blind-folded fear."
That is just what I did.
Blessed Be.

Faith is not surrendering, but accepting. Have you ever tested the principles defined by Galileo or Einstien - or did you simply accept them as true? You said, "we know for a fact it isn't true" in reference to the Bible. I know no such thing. I believe with all of my heart and soul that the Bible is the truth - the Word of the Lord. I do not need proof. I have felt the presence of the Lord in church and in times of need. I have been baptized not by water, but by the Holy Spirit. It's hard to describe this to someone who has not experienced it, but I know it is real. You can choose to mock me and you can be a non-believer if you like. Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs. People mocked Jesus first and He is now enjoying eternal glory with the Lord.

Faith doesn't mean you're ignorant, faith shouldn't be blind. Mine isn't. I've read and studied things to reinforce my belief in Christ and the Bible. It's true that ppl can do evil things in the name of God, but that doesn't give those actions God's support. We must look to see what He did and commanded and emulate that.
In fact, God wants us to seek after wisdom, I personally pray for it whenever I think of it. It's good to think about things of God and understand them. Faith should always pursue knowledge and wisdom, but true knowledge and wisdom will always coincide with the Bible and God's wisdom.
I'd like to see your proof that the Bible isn't true, as I said, through my reading I've found it to be reliable, as have many archaeologists, though they're reluctant to admit it.
