When someone has an abortion in the first trimester does the fetus have a soul? I heard psychic Sylvia Browne say that the fetus would not get their soul until the time of birth coming into the world alive. So if you abort the fetus is there not a soul????I am trying to find out as I had an abortion years ago but the horror of what I did just hit me yesterday for some reason. I went on the internet to look at pictures of aborted fetuses and I now hate myself and can't believe I did that. The guilt is killing me. I am trying to find my way back to christ as I have been away from him for a long time and was fascinated with psychic stuff and paranormal stuff. Please pray that I find my way back to him and yes I know that I am horrible for what I did to that baby so you don't have to tell me, I know.

Many people presume that the snake was the devil in the garden of Eden, but in Genesis it only says the snake was the craftiest of the wild animals created, not that one snake was being used by the devil. Why would the snake be punished if it was just being used. The devil's name isn't even stated until much later in the old testament. After the snake, there is no explicit mention of a third party tempting people to do bad things in the books of Moses. Original sin and temptation are later concepts that are more fully stated in the new testament.

"In order to enter the kingdom of heaven you must accept Jesus Christ as your lord and saviour."

Why is this evil? Because is creates the idea that one group (Christians) are superior to non-christians. After all, if your neighbor isn't going to heaven but you are, obviously, you're superior. When a group believes that they're superior, it leads to horrible things. This attitude of superiority is the root cause for many of the evils of our history, Conquistadors, Manifest destiny, slavery, Spanish inquisition, the Nazi's, the Crusades, how Arab world wants the Israelis wiped of the map because they're not worthy of being the keepers of the holy land. Islam and Judaism have their own beliefs that supposedly elevate them above everyone else too, so this is not just a Christian problem.

That statement creates division not unification. It creates hate, not love. Is this what you think religion should do?

What are your thoughts on this? Please no huge lists of bible quotes.

male parts should be. It is all anyone is concerned with. They say that money is the root of all evil. I think it is sex.
Luke 20:34 says that world or the next world or the resurrection or heaven there will be none. He gave us those feelings to populate the earth. OK it is done. So he can take that away just as easy.
Then it would be repulsive to us. Think of the harm it has caused?
the pain of disloyalty. rejection, child sex to rape.
it is the Reason Satan sinned in the first place Gen 6:
Even corrupted the angels that sinned Jude 6,7
Just think of the peace on earth if that was taken away.

I mean there have been many many religion out there since man was first created. How do we know that because of the lack of technology the people back then didnt just make stuff and then wrote it into a book or pasted it along just like today's science. they had no idea what things happened or why and there is proof for that. there was a man named Zoroaster whom many scholars accredit to to start of judaism. how do we know some guy didnt just run along with these ideas and construct the bible? what makes this Christian God i serve so muxch more real than the others like Zeus. Even though i dont believe in the Trinity, how can this one be different that the hindu one Shiva Vishnu, and the other one? how do we know that God didnt just created us to die and then its over. maybe was afterlife something made up to make death not as bad.

I have met several Christians, who said that they tolerated those of other faiths, But in the end they still preached about Jesus to people they knew did not believe in Christianity. Then, there are those who just plain out think people are bad for being Wiccan, Pagan, or Atheist. I do believe that MOST Christains do not understand the ways of Wiccan Worship, and that is why they think Wicca is bad. But, If a Christain says, Wicca is Bad, and they don't know about it, and refuse to learn about it, How can they be tolerant of those who have different beliefs than Christianity?

When God created the earth. He made Adam and Eve. Adam and Eve had children. Where did the rest of the people come from. Did Adam and Eve's kids have to sleep with Eve and make more children who slept with each other? Where did all the other people come from if God only made Adam and Eve?

In the spirit of the song Santa Claus is coming to town...
Ooh,
You better not think
You better not sin
You better not stink
You better not think you're going to win,
Cause God will be judging you.
He sees you when your sinning he knows when you are gay
He knows which church you go to and how much that you pay
So,
You better not think
You better not sin
You better not stink
You better not think you're going to win,
Cause God will be judging you.
He knows if you've been married and knows when you had a divorce
He makes sure that you will have the ultimate remorse
So,
You better not think
You better not sin
You better not stink
You better not think you're going to win
Cause God will be judging you.
He created the universe just a few thousand years ago
And if you can prove different you're going down below.
So,
You better not think
You better not sin
You better not stink
You better not think you're going to win
Cause God wil bel judging you.

about their religion and prove it false? Mans inquisitive nature is what separates us from the animals. Everything needs to be questioned, especially christianity. As it is stopping us from progressing as a tolerant peaceful nation.

In its current form, the Bible is at best, a very huge complex badly worded confusing instruction book for selected religious believers and followers to use as their moral code and guidance throughout their life, in order to become a better person, with a view to going to Heaven.

My personal view of the Bible is that it’s the biggest load of garbage and codswallop ever written by man, and I’m sure it will go down in history as the greatest load of gobbledygook ever to inflict such traumatic mental and physical damage on humanity.

The Bible has already been modified several times, so why don’t religious people just strip out all the evil, murders, rapes, abuse, and traumatic references? Why not rewrite the book properly using commonsense and logic, keeping only some non-confusing non-violent more honest references for people to follow?

Here’s a start for you – The Good Bible.

We don’t know if God exists, but here’s a few steps to follow to behave in a decent manner.

The church uses psychological manipulation for good.
I have used psychological manipulation for good.
Is there an atheists version of the churches style of psychological manipulation?

I am getting really sick of all the fear mongering the church uses to keep my mind "on task".

I want to be a good person, and have people do good things for others, and to spread the word of doing good, without having to scare the bejesus out of them.

Why was there lightning and thunder? Why did the sun, moon, and stars apparently go around the Earth? Why did someone get sick and die? Why did anything happen? Well, obviously, God did it. If a person doesn’t know how something works or why something happened, they can say, “God did it.” This is known as the “god of the gaps,” or the “argument from ignorance,” and it is at the heart of the conflict between science and religion. Science looks for natural causes, while religion looks for supernatural causes. Science is steadily winning, because as we understand more and more about the universe, the gap where God might function grows smaller and smaller. Every time we learn more, God has less room to operate. When we learned what caused the sun to apparently move across the sky, there was no need for the Greek god Helios and his chariot. When we understood what caused lightning, there was no need for the Greek god Zeus, the Roman god Jupiter, or the Norse god Thor.

I have some friends who are very into American Indian traditions, artwork, customs, that are moving at the end of August from Texas to New Mexico. They are leaving a home they have lived in for more than 20 years. I want to celebrate the time they enjoyed at the home, (as a going away gift, and to honor the move), with a Hopi tradition I read about somewhere. If I remember correctly, the tradition says to smash a small pot, on the land, as a sign of reverence to the elders. This leaves a mark on that the land you are leaving; leaving a sign (the smashed pot) as a symbol that you were once of that land, before moving on to a new land. I am trying to make sure I understand best how to honor this tradition, thus my question. I want to know as much as I can about this traditon when I present my friends with a small Hopi pot for smashing, so I can explain my intentions, and my actions.

Drop one coin and watch it fall. Do this again. Hold out the third coin.

If you were to do this again, what do you think would happen? If you could get ten good Christians to pray that this next coin wouldn’t fall, would it still fall? How about one thousand faithful Muslims? How about one billion people of any faith? I think that it would still fall. Drop the third coin.

Our understanding of the world around us, and our abilities to predict what will happen are based on naturalism — the basis of science. Naturalism is how all people live their lives most of the time.

Some of these godbelievers are extremely violent.

Its good to have a place to criticize religious nuts without fear of violence. Truely unique in America.

Assuming your prayer is effictive and can change the person in anyway. Would it not be correct to get their permission to do so since you can change their life? Also assuming they have the capicity to say yes or no to your prayer.

In addition I'm not asking if you have permission from God. I'll take that you have that permission already. Again do you have the right to change someone else's life without their permission?

I know I am a good person. People tell me all of the time.

I can read peoples faces, and know what their fears are from the first minute I speak with them.

I allay their fears, and put their minds at ease. This is all without reading the bible.

I do not believe in god. I believe in good. I pray to the good, I do the good work, I say thank good it's friday. I have neglected god my entire life, because studying the bible will take away my time from doing good.

I believe in science. I don't believe in pseudoscience that makes false claims that are unprovable. Same as I do not believe in god, I don't believe in the unprovable stories.

I feel good within me. I get visions of doing even more good. I do not believe in god.

Can I read the STORIES in the bible, and be a gooder person? I want to do more good, and I want to be better at doing good.

What are the best verses to read, for me to follow, if I want to do good, without having to believe in god?
