perfection cannot be determined by an individual's mind, it is seen as something different to everyone. ie. Christians believe God is perfect, and Atheists do not.
so my question is: why is it that people still try to define it?

He called everybody 'brother', liked Gospel, and couldn't get a fair trial !!

P.S. This is not meant to be racist!

This is just a little poll to see what percentage of that generation is still alive. Please answer yes if you are part of that generation, or no if you are part of a newer generation. In the bible a generation is about 20 to 30 years. Israel became a nation in 1948. In 2 more years we will start the 3rd or 4th generation since that time. It's about time that Christians move that goal post of prophecy up. It would be ridiculous to still be saying that that generation will not pass away before Jesus comes in the year 2048, would it not?

Remember in the 80's when bible prophecy profit makers were getting everybody excited about the tenth nation joining the EU any day and this being that last prophecy to be fulfilled for Jesus to return? How many nations are in the EU now?

I never said God doesn't love you. If If If God didn't love you, would you decide that there's no God?

I think the driving force behind the belief in God is just wanting to feel loved by something that can protect you

People give
in line with their faith,
in line with conviction.
Whoever gets flustered
at food & drink given to others,
attains no concentration
by day or by night.

But one in whom this is
cut through
up-rooted
wiped out
attains concentration
by day or by night.

Is one of your primary motivations for coming on yahoo answers is the familiar avatars, and the entertainment value, and it is a good conversation about religion that you are addicted to, and not neccessarily to learn anything?

I'm not really interested in converting to Christianity, but I might ask questions about Christianity, even when I know the answer, just to see what other peoples opinions are on the subject matter. Does anyone else do this?

Is it what it's supposed to be? (participating in the sacrifice at calvary) or is it just about celebrating ourselves now?
I see that many Masses only purpose is to reinforce their culture, folk masses, rock masses, clown masses, mariachi masses, etc... I'm thinking that we are missing something very important in the new Catholic Church (reverence for the Holy Eucharist).
Should I start going to the Traditional Mass instead?

Should I teach my son about the fire and sulphur that reigned on the wicked, and teach my son that if he isn't good enough for God, God will reign sulphur on him.

Some say this isn't true, that Jesus forgives. But I have heard from Christians that God sent Hurricane Katrina because of the wicked in America, a localized flood, God had a loophole in Genesis 8:21 when he promised not to flood the ENTIRE world.

Should I teach him about Revelation 6, and the horsemen?

Here's this one story about Dinah, well maybe when he is four I can teach him that one.

Do most people living in third world countries go to hell after they die because they never accepted Jesus as their savior? They have never heard of Christianity or the Bible. These people never take the time to worship God or Jesus because they spend most, if not all of their time just trying to survive. Because they would rather spend their time trying to live instead of accepting Jesus, they must go to hell, right?

IF you say respect, why I never hear anyone say "I'm God respecting"?

If you love God out of fear, God is bullying you. So, God is a bad boy

I read a passage in the bible one day about not forcing religion down someone's throat. Can anyone share that verse with me? It said something to the effect of God doesn't want us to force the word of God on someone that doesn't want to hear it.

Shouldn't it just be one sentance, Hi this is God and Jesus died for your sins and if you belief this I will reward you and if you don't then I will punish you.

The rest of it is subject to interpretation, and we don't follow it anymore. Example is Exodus 21:20-21. We don't allow people to beat their slaves anymore. So we don't need it anymore do we? And Leviticus 11:9-12, saying shrimp eating is an abomination, I guess we don't need that anymore.

Do we need a sentance for who doesn't get into heaven, say we include after my sentance 1 Corinthians 6:9, or Rev 22:15 where it says dogs don't get in.

What do you think?
