There is a God and he does love us. therefore, this is another pointless "what if" question. Jesus loves you.

You may be right about a portion of us God believers.
I gather from what I have read about Anthropology, that mankind has needed to have a way to explain how catastrophic things happen, so they figured there must be entities greater than humans that had control. So they prayed for protection to those they believed to have control.
I can only speak for myself on this, but the reason I believe in a Higher Power has to do with the accounts of Near Death Experiences that I have read.
Basically what people who have "come back from the dead" say is:
1) yes, there is a God
2) yes, there is an Afterlife
3) our lives in this Universe are not the entire picture
4) this environment was built to give us a place to grow spiritually and it is not Home, but Home away from Home
5) life here is hard because we need adversity to grow spiritually and we incarnate with a plan for our life
6) direct intervention by the Creator is rare, however we do have so-called "guardian angels" to protect us as we go about completing the mission we chose
There's a lot more to it and not everyone's account agrees to the last detail with the others, but I find the scenarios plausible and what I listed above seems to be the consensus.
As I always say, no one really knows what happens when death is complete, but you go with what makes sense to you, and live your life.

No. There would still be a God whether he showed his love to me or not. Because I would not know one way or the other. If god loves me, why would he not love others. If god loves everybody, why would others also suffer in pain and sickness?

If God didn't love anyone, I would be rather depressed, I think. I probably wouldn't go to Mass or read the Bible or worship him anymore - what's the point? Just because God wasn't to my liking, however, doesn't mean he wouldn't exist. I would believe in him, I just probably wouldn't follow him.

Exodus 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Exodus 23:13 And in all things that I have said unto you be circumspect: and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth.
Judges 10:13 Yet ye have forsaken me, and served other gods: wherefore I will deliver you no more.
You need to concern your self with your salvation and stay away from foolish questions like these.

That doesn't make sense. Even if that were to happen, the idea that there IS a God who doesn't love anyone already answers your question of his existence.
But if it's a question of choice, whether you would accept his existence or not - regardless of love (or the lack of it) - isn't it always better to know the truth, however painful, than to live in darkness? (or something like it)

No, IF, IF, IF, God didn't love me, would not alter the fact that he existed or created us. (But there would be a whole lot less churches).
