Is one of your primary motivations for coming on yahoo answers is the familiar avatars, and the entertainment value, and it is a good conversation about religion that you are addicted to, and not neccessarily to learn anything?

I'm not really interested in converting to Christianity, but I might ask questions about Christianity, even when I know the answer, just to see what other peoples opinions are on the subject matter. Does anyone else do this?

You are right on with the primary reason for getting involved with Y/A. I love to acknowledge other people's point of view and I like it when other people can see my comment and just listen, they don't necessarily have to agree with me nor I with them. Isn't that called communication? Yeah, I wish so many people wouldn't be so judgemental of people giving an opinion.

A lot of stuff on here is opinion based...but I'm still always pretty interested in what other people say. Sure it is entertaining, but I don't appreciate silly answers. Ones that are thought provoking, or actually attempting to answer someone's question or help some one interest me.

I like to read "resolved" questions. And though what some people may say on here can be very true and possibly scientific, I will take everything at face value. And I consider looking up more reliable sources on scientific matters if I really want to know the answer.

I do enjoy hearing other people's opinions, how can one debate knowing only one side of the arguement?? Besides, I may need some advice some time hehe.

Just my thoughts...

I think I've got a few motivations.

1. It kills time.
2. It's good for a laugh.
3. I consider several people here my friends.

but

4. I think I kind of put these topics to the back of my head about ten years ago. I knew I wasn't a Christian or any other kind of theist, but ı gave up thinking about, or wondering _why_ that was. Amidst all of the nonsense that goes on here, I think that the process of asking and answering has made me clarify my own personal beliefs - and thus be stronger in them.

and

5. I feel that I can help people overcome bigotry and fear. I think it's a worthwhile thing to try.

4 and 5 are the virtues, but 1, 2 and 3 are equally important to me.

some time it is a sense of sharing and some where caring for the human feelings of co-existence love and an effort to understand one's own point of view. You may ask questions about Christianity or Islam or Hinduism or any thing you like but as long as you try to hold on to your identity with a brand religion nothing is going to be achieved.Every one justifies what one believes and some how creates a difference with others.
Find a religion which will abolish all your boundaries of thought processes and join the vast human race as one human being on this planet and believe in the GOD WHO resides in the very conciousness of the dust particles. If you think hands full love will take you closer to the soul of this planet and the human race without the boundaries of nations religions and racial divisions you will find inner clarity and peace.Religion of LOVE with a LOVING GOD is the only religion which can not only protect you but the whole human race.

My main reason for coming onto YahooAnswers is because I like to solve problems and if it can help people at the same time then its a bonus.

Most people say they know the answer but rarely do they accept the truth. The truth is what you believe to be true even if it is false. I keep an open mind when people gives an answer so that I can choose whether or not I want to learn.

i think most of the other people do this, too. they ask a question that they have an opinion on and wait and see what others think..

i think this is a good thing. i like to hear others opinions and ideas.. and there is a lot of entertainment value on yahoo answers...some of the answers are really good..some laughable.

there are some avatars that i always look for to see what they are doing now..

For me, the draw is the entertainment value and the conversation. Google is my homepage, so a lot of the 'official' answers are practically automatic, but I consider religion and matters of faith dynamic; textual background is good, but I want to know what other people think and feel about what they believe.

Good question, Darwin. Thank you.

The religion that you believe could serve well to the likes of your avatar. Knowledge of a belief does not entitle you the knowledge of Truth which does not come from scriptures, but from own individual experience. So to say every individual can become a Christ instead of just believing in Jesus The Christ.

By reading other people's questions about religion (and many other topics), I feel it helps me expand my own opinions and philosophies. I try to keep an open mind to other people's ideas because even if you don't necessarily agree, there often is something to be learned from the questions (and answers).

I enjoy giving my view because I feel there are many who have misguided views - there are things they have never thought of. I also enjoy hearing other peoples' views so I can learn something I never thought of before. Plus it's the only place I know where you can get into a religious debate and someone is not going to throw something at you (physically).

I enjoy most of your questions (I said "most") because they seem to be focused on trying to get people to think, and of course the reaction part that you enjoy. I try to take it in good humor.
