Under Christian doctrine:

Are Christians given a free pass and able to sin all they want for their entire lives?

If not, what must be done to atone or repent for sin?

If you have sinned, please explain how you repented.

If you have not sinned, please so state.

Thanks.

Free will?

Could you will yourself to believe something that didn't make sense to you?

Let's say you're right and I'm wrong.

Then I will be punished because not for my actions, but for faulty reasoning?

I just don't get it.

What am I missing?

but how about all of the people that "accept" Christ as God and don't follow his teachings, are they still Christians? I would think that they would not be. Wouldn't one who trys to live by the principles taught by Christ be more of a Christian than one who "accepts" Christ as God and doesn't?

He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your fathers had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD. Deuteronomy 8:3

With all thats going on in the world, every time some radical desides to blow up a plane, the first thing to happen is the moderate Muslim groups feel they need to appologise. I aprciate the guesture, but I feel they wish they could be seperated from theese loons in the public mind.
Anyone else feel like this?

"It followed from the special theory of relativity that mass and energy are both but different manifestations of the same thing -- a somewhat unfamiliar conception for the average mind. Furthermore, the equation E is equal to m c-squared, in which energy is put equal to mass, multiplied by the square of the velocity of light, showed that very small amounts of mass may be converted into a very large amount of energy and vice versa. The mass and energy were in fact equivalent, according to the formula mentioned above. This was demonstrated by Cockcroft and Walton in 1932, experimentally."

-Albert Einstein

E=mc2

M=e/c2

C2=m/e

In other words, did the supreme creator of the world impregnate a virgin to have his incarnation walk on earth?

Please defend your reason for this belief. If you quote the Bible, please specify the verse used.

i saw quite a few questions tossed at atheist and pagans and other religions in here i want to know why you think we do. i know the answer for myself. most non-christians have read the bible and then studied the world history and then studied the christian faith we find it invalid and unprovable at best. so if you think you are right then fine dont beleive us nonchristians just look at your history before you throw stones at us non believers.

i am a spiritual/pantheist

I don't understand the whole confession thing. A priest can go a rape a little boy, then confess his sin to a priest, and that priest can't do a thing about it. Does that make any sense whatsoever? Mr. pedophile priest can rape as many boys as he wants, but as long as he confesses it to another priest he can continue to get away with it. And catholics actually listen to these men as though they are men of god. These mere men can provide absolution in the eyes of the lord to a pedophile? Does anyone else find that awesomely disturbing?

There is this person, his name is Sean. Sean met someone named Mary on the internet in 1996. They talked off and on. In 2000 while Sean lived in Detroit and Mary lived in Kansas City, Sean drove from Detroit to Kansas City to meet Mary. This was a 12 hour drive for him. In 2002 they were married, and in 2003 they had a child.
Now they live together and struggle like all married couples to be happy and pay the bills and raise their son.

How far would you drive to meet someone you met?

Oh, religions? Mary is Roman Catholic, and that Sean guy left Roman Catholocism to start jim_darwinism,

I have been venting some frustration in an improper manner.
Most of my questions and answers have been sincere. But I have
made poor attempts at comedy and used unintelligent curse
words. Please accept my humble apology.

There have been questions about the growth of Islam, the number of adherents within a given religion, etc.

By the numbers: 20.12% of the world is Muslim and 17.33% of the world is Catholic (33.03% total for Christianity). Islam has surpassed Catholicism and is approaching the Christian total.

(Note: These numbers only reflect people/families who profess a given religion. It is unlikely that such large numbers are devout adherents to these religions.)
