I think he's more than a little nuts. There's even an anti-chick-tract cottage industry that has built up just to make fun of how stupid he is.

Jack Chick's "theories" come straight out of his rampant paranoia and religious bigotry. He is not merely a little nuts, he is a lot nuts. I've met the man and he is as unpleasant in person as he seems to be in his comics. There is no room for diversity or difference of opinion in his little world. Either you believe exactly as he does or you are doomed to hell. He doesn't even like most other Christians. The man is in the same catagory as Fred Phelps.

I heard a funny little story about the Christian insistence on 'purity or nothing'. Boiling it down to the fundamentals, it states that most Christian doctrine has no room or time for anything that is not 100% perfectly aligned with their own ideas. No challenges need apply, regardless of the rigor with which they were researched and tested beforehand. By that light, then, Chick is not a Christian.
On the other hand, Chick believes that the Protestant faith is weathering all kinds of attacks on any number of levels, so a certain amount of splintering and factionalism is inevitable. Still, if the Council of Nicea could use the opinions of 14-18% of those who claimed allegiance to Jesus of Nazareth and use those to beat the remainder into line, then who's to say if Chick won't try to do the same? Now, THAT's a conspiracy theory worthy of the name...
More importantly, I submit that Chick's publications might fall under the rubric of "agitprop"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agitprop
... intended to disturb social structures for the specific purpose of changing who is in charge of said social structures. He can claim that he wants to see Christians as leaders everywhere... but I've met people who claimed adherence to the Christian faith whom I wouldn't trust to lead me across the street, let alone through my life.
Mr. Chick also seems less like a whistle-blower and more of a fear-monger. "Anti-hate-speech laws could be applied to Christian pastors who refuse to bend on their sermons regarding homosexuality"?

Well, maybe this could be the pressure that forces Christians to take a long, hard look at such doctrines and succumb to evolutionary change... pun intended.
To wrap all of this up as neatly as possible: I don't mind conspiracy theories, in the abstract. The notion that there are things going on outside of the world I know keeps me on my toes. And evidence of a conspiracy that must be fought via guile, deceit and treachery would definitely spur me into action. But an individual trying to whip the "pee-pul" into essentially knee-jerk reactions against the Conspiracy sets off a large warning light in my head, and the label beneath that light reads: "Danger! This person may or may not be in possession of his/her entire marble collection, as they are clearly engaged in projective slander and desire followers with much vigor but no interest in questioning him/her!"

WELL Years ago I started checking him out and others said what you are saying. I found everything he said to be TRUE and I heard and saw preaching tapes of Alberto. I think that the Chick tracts are right on.. and he has recieved a lot of persecution for them.

Mr Chick is doing some wonderful work for the Lord. What are you doing? Who are you serving doing that which you are doing?
Have you brought the word of God to anyone? Have you made sure that your family and friends have all heard the gospel of the Lord? Have you loved you neighbor and even your enemies as the word tells you to?
Praise God for Mr Chick and all like him. You know he would be the first to welcome you into the Kingdom to, will you come?
Romans 10:9 There is room for you at the cross.....

He's an anti-Catholic crackpot.
If his bigotry was aimed at black people or gay people, he'd have been ostracized a long time ago.
But since he's "only" bigoted against Catholics, he's not considered to be a bigot -- or at the very least, he's not considered to be "as bad of a bigot" as other people are.
The fact that Chick is still considered relevant at all is proof that anti-Catholicism is America's greatest socially acceptable prejudice.
