i find that interesting, too. of course, i know we do not have all of Jesus's teachings...but there are no mentions of homosexuality.

perhaps there is something there that Jesus understood, and what Jesus did preach was love. there are all kinds of love...

Jesus taught love. His message was love each other as you love yourself He never condemned anyone only cared about them. I am sure he met a homo it just wasn't important enough for him to mention. It is mentioned in the Old Testament but then that is Moses making laws and he wasn't exactly the one to determine what was and wasn't right he was after all a murderer.
His deity gave him the ten commandments all the rest is merely commentary from men with their own prejudice and no where in the ten commandments does it say a word about homos. In the New Testament there are statements made but those are by the disciples and they again were not exemplary paragons of virtue Peter not only lied he rebuked Jesus in his lie and Paul of course had his own demons to deal with. Jesus could have cared less is someone was a fag or not it didn't matter that's why he said nothing about it only those less pure than him had any comments to make and they obviously didn't hear what Jesus had to say. All the books in the New Testament say something different each of them heard the same thing from Jesus but they interpreted what he said differently. Also the terms used such as husband and wife are just that terms you have to look at the definition of the word not what you think it means or has come to mean from usage.

Jesus spoke often about sinners. You must remember that it is only in the last decade or so that the gay & lesbian propoganda machine has really taken thrust (no pun intended!). There was no media brainwashing way back then when Jesus was around (lucky!).

There is no doubt that the Bible decries sins such as homosexuality. Yet it should be recognized for what it is, a serious emotional problem. In the 1970's the psychiatric board of America declassified homosexuality as a psychlogical problem. Yet the same chair of that board has announced in 1999 that it was one of the biggest mistakes made in psychiatry. Of course, he was "hero" to the gay & lesbian groups before he made that announcement, and has been shunned by the same groups after that announcement. The gay propoganda is one of the major destructive forces of our society today, where kids are growing up confused about their own sexuality. The brainwashing continues, the media's thrust lingers.

Of course, not everything he did was (nor could it have been) written down in the 4 gospels.

My short (probably inadequate, or wrong) answer: Was it necessary? If God Himself (that is, if you believe that the Bible is, indeed, the "Word of God", "God-Breathed", etc.), spoke the words in all of the other books of the Bible, why would it be necessary for Him to say it again in those 4 gospels? Like I said, it's very possible that Jesus did indeed speak out against homosexuality...heck, he may have gone on another "Sermon on the Mount" type of speaking, but it just wasn't recorded in the Bible.

It is an interesting observation; the likely answer is that there is not really a problem with it.

What are more interesting are the answers to this question. The large majority find some way to condemn it when there is no proof of it being condemned. Maybe, the authors were not as omnipotent as claimed.

Jesus elevated the status of women and embraced those who were considered outcasts. He preached a lot about the sins of adultery, hard-heartedness and arrogance. He dramatically changed Judaism and rejected many of its laws. He didn't address victimless "crimes" such as homosexuality, leaving the reasonable assumption that he considered admonitions against homosexuality a thing of the past. I believe Jesus was against promiscuity and obviously strongly against infidelity, but not against same-sex love and commitment.

That particular issue is man's response. Not one that Jesus addressed. Religious fanatics throw that in your face all the time, but they don't know what they're talking about. It's also just another one of those mysteries surrounding the Bible. So much of it doesn't jive..old testament vs. new testament. It's like having two bosses - each telling you two different sets of orders. Which do you follow? Frustrating.

People should READ the asker's question closely! Don't puke up scripture that doesn't exist!

Jesus did mention that divorce was allowable in God's eyes if a mate was guilty of *fornication*...which does include homosexuality. Matthew 19:9

25. And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.

John 21:25

perhaps he did and did speak out about these things and it wasn't recorded.

Jesus didn't find it important to condemn gays and lesbians.

It makes you wonder then why many conservative Christians find it so important to do so today.

Jesus loved everyone, even people who his best friends despised. Would he have supported homosexuality? Who knows?

Perhaps the better response is: Who cares!

Love God with all your heart, and love your neighbor as yourself. That is the true teaching of Jesus.
