Who knows, and who actually cares (it's unfortunate that so many do)? The Bible regardless of who wrote it contains allegories, metaphores, and fables. It should be read like you're reading Mother Goose or Grimm. To be living life based upon it is a farse and travesty. At any rate here's some interesting ideas about God/Jesus...
God--humanities answer to the questions that science couldn't answer at the time of his/her/its creation for example: Volcanic Erruptions--God of Volcanoe; Sunrise/Set--God of the Sun; Moonrise/Moonset/Cycles--God of the Moon (usually a Godess)...etc, the list goes on and on. As science advanced so did the concept of God...today God exists to address questions of philisophy such as: Why am I here? or Why do I exist? These are rhetorical questions that basically have so many answers as to render them mute. That's why God exists.
On to Jesus who is FALSE in every sense of the word. Scripture does NOT support his being anything more than a man with a great knack for teaching/preaching. He was not Son of God and definately not the Messiah (he met only 80% of the stated criteria for that). Didn't die for your sins or mine because we're still able to commit sin. Didn't save humanity beacuse we would have ceased to exsit and ascended or descended at either of two moments...His death on the Cross or his Resurrection. Not comming back because of prior failures...PEACE

The Bible is inspired of God and only written down by men. No man could ever have written the Bible as it has complete harmony throughout and was written over several thousand years. Secular accounts exist about Jesus' life and God definately exists because no man could get everything right all the time.

after reading the davinci code i actually thought alot about it and if you look maybe Mary Magdalen wasn't a whore and was realy his woman and they had kids and there still alive and and hell i don't know lol . actually my thing is the bible was written by MAN not god or Jesus but by men maybe we got it all wrong and look at the difference between Bible's the old test made god all knowing and all power full basically you didn't **** with god but after king James rewrote the bible so he could have a divorce gods nice he's cool he knows everything but he wants your money!! maybe he's just a kid with a magnifying glass and were all ant's? who knows. um what was the question? o yeah if you have faith in something maybe its true maybe its not who's to say ?

Thats the point. christian religion is baised on faith that if some book and some brainwashed idiot tells you something wether it is logical or not you have to belive in it. why do you think catholic preists have sex with little boys because the make the boys think its ok? the bible is a fictional book written to show the basis of the christian religions illogical rantings and its only redeeming feature is that it has some metaphore showing how a "good" person should behave. bottom line the could have made a flyer with the gloden rule written on it and it would have saved a lot of folks a lot of time and grief.

It is unknown that either really existed/exist. The existence of Jesus as a man is entirely probable. However it's more likely that he is a character based on one or more historical and mythological figures. It is very unlikely that the god of the Bible exists. There is simply no empirical evidence to support the assumption that he does.

The Bible provides internal evidence for the existence of Jesus / God.
And there is evidence outside the Bible for the existence of Jesus, God.

Easy because the men that walked with jesus wrote some of the bible and their testomony is ture and god made man write it down with the help of his spirit. The holy ghost. And we all know that jesus was a real person it all actually happen. THE BIBLE IS FACT.

Men first experienced God. Then they related these experiences by words of mouth until writing was invented. The followers of these people then put them into writing to be disseminated to all. We know that they existed because of historical accounts, not just religious accounts.
