It can not just be a dirty blanket because it has been studied quite a few times and wasn't made from any modern materials as we know it today - it actually dates back to egypt about +-2000 years.

You shouldn't believe the carbon-dating process though - it has failed many times but somehw I believe that if that really was the Shroud-of-Turin, somebody would've done some tests and stuff to see if they can't wash the markings of with bleech or something like that???

God help us all!

I believe that there is a Shroud of Turin. As to whether or not Christ is depicted on the Shroud, I would say probably not. I recently watched a program that showed how it could have been done, and it's results were very close.

No. It has been proven to be a mideaval forgery. The body porportions are all wrong, and it has been dated to the twelfth or thirteenth century. Despite the loud apoligetics of believers, the Shroud of Turin is a case of pious fraud.

FYI: The Catholic Church has no official stance on way or the other about the Shroud.

The Shroud was known long before the time of Da Vinci; if it is a fake then it's a masterpiece that couldn't have been made before the 20th century. The Shroud is a mystery..it's a good example of modern photography not known in the middle ages..or beyond.

If you believe the biblical accounts of Jesus's death, then the Shroud of Turin doesn't fit the bill. The Turin shroud, I believe, is one piece. In the gospels, it is clear that Jesus's shroud was two pieces, one for his body, and a headpiece. I believe the two piece shroud was in keeping with Jewish burial practices of the day.

I believe the Shroud of Turin is an excellent example of the genius of Leonardo da Vinci.

I think he crafted it using photographic plate principles of some kind.

Dirty blanket.
Computer generated images of the reconstructed "face of Jesus" looks like a white guy I dated in college. Jesus was not a white man. He was black or middle eastern looking. HE WAS A JEW!! In what is now the middle east. People, please show some sense.
Is there any other cloth from that time? No! Why? Because it is fragile and deteriorates quickly. Especially if it is dirty and "bloody".
I am a born again Christian. I believe in Christ and all of His teachings. I read the Bible. Why isn't this mentioned? At least once by folks who were there?
THINK PEOPLE!!

In that it exists yes. However, 20 years of scientific research have demonstrated repeatedly that this was created in the 15th century, and could not have been the shroud wrapped around Jesus

I believe it is a very cleverly faked piece of art. Not something holy. I believe this based on the logistics of the image itself, and the fact that from the impression made it could not even possibly have come from being wrapped around a person.

I believe its a real shroud. But it is not old enough (by about 1000y) to have belonged to Jesus. The Catholic church collected many so-called "holy" relics in the past for worship purposes.
