Free will?

Could you will yourself to believe something that didn't make sense to you?

Let's say you're right and I'm wrong.

Then I will be punished because not for my actions, but for faulty reasoning?

I just don't get it.

What am I missing?

Hunter,

I'm with you dude, there is no "God" out there anywhere who is going to come down here and thump you on the side of your head cause you don't believe. It's as simple as that!

We are here because we are here, nothing more, nothing less.

But, the Religious Dogmatic Ones will inundate you with a torrent of "Biblical Babble" of Biblical Proportions that says otherwise. Thing is, you don't need any proof with Biblical Babble just alot of hot air! LMAO 8=)

Since He gave us free will....it is a gift...something He cannot take away from us...if we choose not to believe He has no control over that...He wants you to come to Him and want His love...He has done His part and He is always with you right under your nose and people still miss Him....It is not punishment...it is letting you go...letting Satan take you over....if a Father loves his son and the son doesn't believe he exists and that the father loves him though he stands right in front of him then what more can the father do...the son has free will and so the father has to let his son go...the son is a brick wall...He will not give up on you as long as you live but when you come before Him judgement day and you never believed He will not let you into heaven...it's like a child getting candy after all the mean thing he said and all the mean things he did...He will not do the punishing...Satan will...do not fear God...fear Satan

No I do not believe God will punish you. Hell was created for Satan and his followers, not people.
You have been exposed to the truth, and on that point the Bible says "all of creation is without excuse."
If you continue to not accept Christ, then you are choosing to go there, and God will honor your choice. He does not force himself on people. It is His will that none shall perish, but some do.
As long as you're breathing, there's always hope.

Yes, You will be punished for not believeing...
the "punishment" is eternity seperated from God.

Can you will yourself? Well I mean you can lie to yourself.. but will yourself? I dont think so.. even if you did.. you wouldn't be saved because you would have no faith and it wouldn't be in your heart..

Let's say I'm right.. your not wrong.. your just uneducated in religion.. most people are..

You wouldn't be "punished" for your actions... you would suffer because of your in-action. Your complacency...

You need to read more in the bible.. maybe attend church, ask a pastor.. you don't have to join.. just listen, learn and form an opinion yourself..

The God of Christ will punish you for not believing. If something does not make sense to me I usually research it to gather information so that I would not be completely ignorant to the matter. You will be punished for your actions however because we all make our own choices. What you are missing is simple information. Go ahead and gather information about different practices and the one that you believe have faith in it and see what happens.

A god would only want you to appreciate life, believing or not believing in god is a matter of religion which probably has nothing to do with god. Why would god expect humans to believe and not dogs or cats, after all god gave the gift of life to every living thing.

Christians believe that you will be punished for not believing. However, I believe that this is an extremely narrow viewpoint for anyone to hold. If you do have an eternal soul then would it make sense to punish you for not learning something during your relatively short visit here on Earth? In the span of eternity the course of one lifetime is merely a speck of virtual nothingness.

God made this beautiful creation. Everything was perfect. But there was some things going on in the Spiritual World. A beautiful angel decided that God loved His creation of humans more than him. He decided to tempt the woman and man and get them to sin against God. The angel was kicked out of heaven. Anyone who would deny God and go the way of this angel could stay with him. God doesn't want any to perish so He gave His only Son to die on the cross for our sins, (past, present, and future) Jesus left His Father in Heaven to become a man and die on a cross. We have a choice to believe in this or not.
God gave us a wonderful gift, buy not accepting this gift we are turning our backs on our creator. If someone didn't like you, would you die for them?
What are you missing? Eternal life with God

No I dont believe God will directly punish you for not believing in Him..You are missing a relationship with Jesus. The consequences of not believing in Jesus were set many, many years ago.
