yes purdah is still practiced rather adored by countless muslim woman n gals, , , , the other part of ur question shows ur ignorance , coz there r no restrictions on women at that time , infact they r granted with various bounties such as they dont have to perform prayers (salat or namaz) , easiness is provided to them, , ,there is no isolationm or any such system

The Christian nuns wear purdah too,only to be called by different name.To me they look chaste,godly, deserve some respect.
