And what is the role of religious teachers and politicians in it

I think both Aethists and Christians are equally closed minded when it comes to religion or lack of it.

You couldn't make me believe there is no God anymore than you can make an Atheist believe there is one.

Yet somehow we both hope to convince the other. For Christians, Our days on earth are like a shadow, without hope(1 Chronicles 29:15) but why do Aethists hope to change what is in a Christians heart?

Seems like a big trend.
I smite thee so we can be loved.
I'm killing you because I love you.
You worked on sunday, sorry man..death awaits...
you stole an apple, sorry THIS ARM MUST BE CUT OFF
eh, that's religion for you and that's how everyone else outside of your religion sees it. Come up with something new, get original

Everyday there are people on here asking when the world is going to end.
"When is it going to end, how will it end, oh please, why won't it end already??"
Are you all suicidal or what? Stop worrying about when the world is going to end!
(I'll give you a hint it won't be until millions of years from now, long after the human race is extinct. Stop worrying about it. And even then, the universe will continue for long after the earth has been swallowed by the sun)

Are your lives so miserable and pathetic that you can't wait for it all to be over? And the fact that you want EVERYTHING to end is just like those suicidal people who have to take people with them when they kill themselves.
If you love your god so much, then shouldn't you love this world that you supposedly believe he created?
You must not love your god's creation if you are so anxious to see it destroyed.

Because you all are foolish for not believing the truth.
We arent even here this is a dream.
My dream, and you are just a guest in it.
Bow down, or you will suffer the dream powers.
This is my creation and you have screwed it up.
You think your so smart, you know nothing.
You hate your next door neighbor, but don't forget to say grace.
The end is coming for you, not me....your end.
The profane, the weak, the victims, the selfish, the judgemental, the conceited, the lazy....you will all be lost in the empty void you have already created.
Since you cannot see the world as one, you trapped yourself into confusion.
blha blah blah, yadda yadda yadda,......anything anyone tells you sounds like the teacher for charlie brons cartoon.
This is my environment and I you have not yet chosen to find out if anyone solved the mysteries...theres more we know of but you don't. I hope your pride has blinded you enough to still be happy.

that prisoners almost always "get God" when they get locked up?

My uncle was a convict all my life to the point of institutionalization. All of his cards and letters had scriptures in them. Everytime he got out he was immediatly looking for his junkie buddies and stealing anything that wasn't nailed down.
What is you'r opinion on inmates finding God in prison?... Who do you think is more often abandoned, God or the prisoner?

If I am correct than according to bible before our universe was absolutely nothing.
Of cause our view depends on definition of nothing but as I understand there was absolute nothing except GOD.
So we realize that we have eternity time for future so as eternity time into the pass (before universe was ever created).
Does it seem that GOD was imprisoned by all that nothing that surrounded him for eternity? Did he become all powerful only after he created universe? Was he a god of nothing for eternity into the pass, or may be GOD of darkness (since he is the one who created light) for eternity before he created universe? To me it seems like he was in jail for all that time till something in his immutable (unchangeable state) became changeable.

Answer from an honest heart: Ever lied (even once)? Stolen (the value is irrelevant)? Then you’re a lying thief. Bad news huh? There’s more. Have you had sex out of marriage? If so, you’re a fornicator. Jesus said, "Whosoever looks upon a woman to lust after her has committed adultery already with her in his heart." If you have hated someone, the Bible says you’re a murderer. What’s more, you have a conscience (con-science means "with knowledge"), so when you sin, you do it with knowledge it’s wrong.
Bearing in mind that God is perfect and that He has seen your thought life, when you stand before Him on Judgment Day will you be innocent or guilty? You know you will be guilty, and end up in Hell. Perhaps you don’t believe that. That means there’s more bad news for you, because it will happen anyway no matter what you believe. To see what the Good News is just contact me. Until then, give this some serious thought. It applies to EVERYONE, regardless of race, culture, or beliefs.

If you have all of these you are richer than 90 % of the worlds population. So how can any of us say we are not having a great day? I honestly suspect many of the poor in this world are happier than the richer as they content themselves with much less and focus on what really matters. LOVE
Peace Be With You,
Debra

I am slightly confused what unconditional love is and if we are using the proper definition for this word “love”. GOD is all love.
I know that every God’s act will be justified by Christian. I am not asking if it’s good or bad or what’s the reason. I only interesting the in the definition of word “LOVE”
From bible alone we can see that God can be:
Jealous
Furious
Angry
Sorry (that he created all humans)
Feel sorrow in his heart.
Mad
Commands to kill children’s,
Sends deceases
Commands to sluter ppl
Genocide every living thing except 8 ppl
Is it really all love? Is that’s the definition of word “love” this days?
Please don’t explain me why he does that. I know his reason is absolutely beautiful. All I am asking is what’s the definition of word “LOVE”?

How did you feel? Sad?
It's scary to think that the magical creations that we cling to as children are nothing more than figments of our imagination. Santa, the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny all have something in common, we eventually grow up and no longer need the childish notion that they exist. It's scary to some but it's a door that all must walk through.
However, some of you still cling to the childish notion that another imaginary fabrication is real; god. Of course this is completely false and only illustrates that some of you haven't develloped the maturity to look around and measure the world against what people say about it. Once you do so, you'll quickly realize that god, like all of his childhood fairy-tale counterparts, is a figment of someone's imagination. Nothing more.
Please, grow up and join us in adulthood won't you?
If you need to know how, we can help you.

How can you prove it did, even with home movies or pictrues.
What if today was the first day you were really ever alive.
What if was the last day.
Actually this kind of makes me thing of Groundhog's Day, or 12:01
(anyone seen the movie 12:01 actually, it's been years)
Anyways just something I think about. I guess I'm really just looking for people opinions on if they ever felt this way and why?

I think the responses to this pair of questions will demonstrate the truth of the matter quite clearly....

To the Christians: What would it take to convince you that the Bible is false -- the superstitious beliefs of a scientifically primitive Bronze Age culture?

To the atheists: what would it take to convince you that the Bible is true -- the divinely inspired Word of the Almighty Creator of the Universe?

We see so many conservatives wanting to keep America safe and touting the death of civilians in far away lands to ensure our safety over here. Why would someone who claims so ferverently to be Christian be so afraid of death? They'll just go to heaven, won't they? Or does this fear mean they're not 100% sure in their beliefs, which would also automatically mean they are not truly Christians and would be cast into hell.

Agnostic here, not trying to disconvert anyone, just asking,

There was a Viking King Canute who had many followers who thought he was God. One servant said but great king you command even the tides. He ordered them to the shore where he commanded the tide not to come in. They waited.
That was the Greatest Day in all their lives, their "God" did not control nature. I wonder what did their faces look like, did their eyes light up?

Could today be the greatest day of your life?

www.talkorigins.org perhaps?

I wish you could have seen the look on my face when I was told Jesus or Evolution and I stormed out of there no longer plugged into that cult of a religion.
That was the Greatest Day of my entire Life, the day I stopped believing in Jesus.

Can one live authentic life and believe in God, I suppose one can. But to those who say I lead an inathentic life for believing in Evolution and no God, I love you, my life is a happy one filled with purpose and joy. Blessed be.
