I do with my whole heart and soul. (I am sure someone is going to report me and then there will be many who say I am insane or who will insult me. I really do not care. As dear St. Alberto Hurtado said,"I am content Lord, content."

The first commandment said to not worship anyone else but god.
Not to mention I see allot of churches with a statue of Jesus in it which i think violates the 2ND commandment (idolatry). I recall Jesus saying that his teachings were the only path , but I never recall him saying to worship him.

Everyday I come on here just to be shocked by the absolutely absurd beliefs people have. For example:

The world is going to end and Jesus is going to bring his fan club up into the clouds.

There are really demons that make people do bad things.

Everything in the bible is completely true, no matter how absurd it might be. (Talking donkeys included.)

Science is satanic because it doesn't follow the creation myths.
Anyone who disagrees is going to burn in hell.

It's just shocking that people can really believe these things.
I know this isn't a strictly American psychosis and that there are different versions of it all around the world. However, it's amazing to me that people who live in an advanced technological society with so much access to scientific knowledge could have the same superstitions as people who lived during the Bronze Age.

Are there any countries where this doesn't happen? How soon can I become a citizen?

At the time of his murder, Smith held the titles of: "Prophet, Seer, Revelator, and Translator," "President of the Church," "President of the First Presidency," and "Trustee-in-Trust" of the Church.

Was he also a Profit?

I read it briefly in a book and it definetly sparked my interest...although some people say it's witchcraft, other people say it's just enhancing energy. What is it, how do you practice it and even though I am a Catholic, is it morally right to practice it?

Thank you, just wondering.

Why do they feel that their religion gives them the power to kill innocent people, blow up buildings, and try to overthrow the U.S.?

Please don't come back with a response of "well all religions do that." I know they do; Christians learned their lessons in the Crusades, Jews do it with Israel, etc. We're all guilty of it. But why is Islamic fundamentalism so violent and targeted towards the innocent and an overthrow of America?

I'm sure christians will say no. But, doesn't the old traditional belief of my ancestors hold as much merrit as others? If you say no, and that I'm going to hell, does that make you a racist towards my people?

"I do not have a soul. I am a soul, I have a body." - C.S. Lewis (I think)

"If man's greatest desire is the will to live, why aren't men interested in Life Eternal?" (Adaptation from a quote in a book)

Why is that most Atheists on here attack the credibility of the Judeo/Christian God's existence or Christianity in general but never question the other religions? There seems to be an ongoing battle between christianity and atheism on here with an occasional Islam, Hinduism mixed in. I believe its illogical to attempt to disprove any existence of a god while only attacking one religion - sure you can convince yourself that the christian god does not exist, but that still leaves the possibility of a god out there

You see a dog just cruising across an intersection DIAGONALLY, no tags, hoping to get laid. I think they are a good symbol and reminder that our civilization is just an idea we have agreed on (to varying degrees).

i heard on the Glenn Beck show that the world will end on august 22nd 2006. this is because of a series of strange, scary, and possibly coincidental events invovling the middle east right now. when do you think it will end?

Do you believe in literal Genesis? If not, how do you work science into your belief of the Bible? If you don't believe in the Bible, how do you feel you know the truth?

Just curious on how other people resolve this. Please give only serious answers. I'm not interested in answers like "There is no God so..." or "Evolution is true because..."
Also, if you feel the need to insult the intelligence of Christians please do so somewhere else.

My faith, me....I denounced christianity for exploiting my father's good nature and they had him kick my mother out of the church because she questioned what they were doing with the money.
Then they bled him dry and forced him to become homeless when he could no longer contribute his paychecks to them. That caused my family to separate and I also became homeless....So when I was chilling on the streets starving, jesus was the last thing on my mind because it kinda was his fault in my eyes.
But, this was just a regular church.......and this is how I see all churches now...I'm a good guy, I contribute, have empathy, am creative, hold a good job now, am very generous, There is no possible way I would return to a church because of my personal experiences.
I do read alot.
I learn about all cultures and am curious about their lifestyles.
I'm a huge history buff, and love fantasy novels
So what would happen to me if I never woke up tomorrow

If more individuals would READ the words of their savior, messiah, founder, etc. their actions would be blasphemous, yet they claim it is condoned by GOD. Right now, the current religious-political leaders (and other terrorists) in the middle east are prime examples. I KNOW the Q'uran does NOT condone their actions. Neither does the Torah. Christ would be absolutely appalled by the petty-mindedness and bigotry of his followers. Could Buddha hold his head up with delight? Doubtful. What is most depressing is that there are many believers who DO follow the words of their God, but they are pushed aside as not understanding the TRUE desires of their deity. Why blame a God or a devil when in truth it is our own fear, greed and bigotry that is the source of war and virtually all other ills that befall the human race? Why won't we accept responsibility for our own actions. God (or Satan, for that matter) didn't make us do it--WE did.
