Bar-jesus Son of Joshua, the patronymic of Elymas the sorcerer (Act 13:6), who met Paul and Barnabas at Paphos. Elymas is a word of Arabic origin meaning "wise."

Acts 13:6

I know a 19 year old girl and her 23 year old boyfriend that died in a motorcycle crash!! They were young, smart, in love and she was getting ready to go to college!! They were in the dawn of life, if God cared about them or their families and friends why did he let them die and to top it off the guy that hit them ran and his girlfriend is saying it was her fault, so he just gets away with nothing and two families lost two very loved people!! WHY????

They seem the same to me!

What is someone counter the story of the guy finding a golden bible by his house with "No idiot god made the world in seven days!" are "Then he put two of every animal on a boat"

All these religions have stories that would seem "wierd" so how can one knock the other.

Also with them promoting there relgion they swear like other relgions don't!

PS: Im not mormon im agonostic but I don't get how people be just hypocrites when they are all pracitally the same.

Agnostic here asking question, not wanting to convert anyone to a religion,

This answer was just given to a previous question of mine:

Evolution is not a science. Science has equal views on evolution and creationism. Neither has been proven and the science community supports neither.
Read a book.

So my question is,
1. What is the scientific view on creationism?
2. Is creationism a scientific theory that has the ability to be falsified?
3. What scientific facts support the creationism view?
4. Since the creationism view is that of a God as creator, what empirical evidence exists that would lead me to see God's existence?
5. What book should I read?

Question for evolutionists specifically . . .
6. Is this just putting to much attention to the non-evolutionist, or is this list of questions valid to show the failure of saying that science has an equal view of creationism as it does evolution?

I consider myself a well-read, open-minded, intelligent individual, but have always had one foot in both the creationism pool and one in the evolution pool. How can one discount the other? The spiritual side of my believes the creationism, the scientific side, the evolutionism. Yet, how can one exist without the other? Does anyone else feel this way?

If a new law came out that prohibited introducing, discussing, or in any way advocating any religious belief to someone below the age of 18, what do you think would happen?

Children lack the critical thinking and perspective of experience needed to examine an idea and form their own opinion. They are much more likely to form the same opinion as those that raise them, care for them, and support them.

So what if religion was banned before the age of 18?

Do you think religion would cease to be in a generation?

Do you think they would come up with their own version of God?

Do you think they would convert to something the second they turn 18?

Please don't quote the Bible in response; tell me what YOU think.

What exactly does God tell us not to kill...it doesn't say "Thou shalt not kill humans." Before you get angry with this question...think about it...

My opinon and please a comment.....
I try not to be offensive but this is what I see.....
This whole mainstream religion thing is helping some people but it is like a stratosphere that they will never rise above.
I really think some people initially need it but once they understand their role in a community..not so much after....
It is such a crazy concept and is hurting humanity bigtime...they have no reason to contribute like they should if they followed their dreams instead of their churches.....
Organizations are great and do alot but....do you think we can do anything about it before the world looks like 1984 or brave new world.
Maybe there is a group that has power and knows what to do, and we don't see it yet. Maybe we gotta find them...oh well...any feedback

Well, it looks like some of you guys think jesus was the god in flesh hmmm. Why is that. What is the logic in this. Technically, I am god in the flesh, and so are you.
What proof is needed to think jesus was god excpet for biblical reference.
What "IF" the bible disappeared today. Seriously it could happen.. What's your theory.......
Given the situatuion described above what happens then.

God is real...jesus was not god like you think he was...he was a very gifted man but not "the" god......
it is modern polytheism.........
crazy, i never thought of it that way.....................
My faith........is this...Me and my mind and my mind's ability to know

judge not lest ye be judged? I expect to be judged. I judge everyone I meet. If I meet you, I judge whether or not you'd be a good person to spend more time with, or if you'd drain me, or make my life worse. You have to do that. Do I let others walk all over me? or do I use my best "judgement" and take action based on how I judge our interaction? HUH?

i saw a question on the other day, where a guy was telling people that he's yahweh and that people should serve him.

all of the christians accused him of mocking god. what i don't get though is,,,, christians expect a second coming of christ, correct? so how are you going to know who's actually jesus and who isn't??? i mean,,, even if he does something like turn water into wine or drop from the sky, you'll just dismiss those as a magic tricks and then accuse him of blasphemy. so what exactly will you be looking for??? what will it take to convince you??

follow up question: if you guys are so quick to dismiss a person's claim that they're jesus, then wouldn't you have also dismissed that claim when coming from the mouth of the original jesus 2,000 years ago???

plus,, correct me if i'm wrong, but you shouldn't be expecting evidence (aka miracles) in order to prove to you that he's jesus. you should just be accepting him on faith, right? well,, how do you know where to put your faith?

God's Moral Standard is the Ten Commandments. Examine yourself with some of His Laws: Have you ever told a lie? Have you ever used God's name in vain? Have you ever looked at someone with lust. When you die, God will judge you by His Moral Standards. If you stand guilty before God on judgment day, you will be headed for Hell. God is Kind and Caring in that He provided a way for you to be Forgiven and accepted into Heaven. Jesus Christ died on a cross in order to take the punishment and pay the debt for your sins. Now what you must do is Repent, which means to turn from your sins, ask God's forgiveness, and put your complete Trust in Jesus Christ. Only then will you Saved, Forgiven, and Accepted into Heaven, not because your a good person, but because your a bad person who's been Forgiven.

I've noticed that whenever you ask someone if they will go to heaven they say that, "yeah, im'a pretty good guy, i'm going" So will the whole world go to heaven or are we headed for damnation.
