God killing babies? What about the 1.5 million unborn babies slaughtered in American abortion mills every year? That's not God's fault!

Maybe if God could stop killing all these people (not just babies) that are innocent, I might think about maybe not taking his name in vain...sometimes. Religious people will say stuff like "oh that isn't God, that's the murders that killed that person" but then they try to act like everything good that happens is God acting through a person...how come when a person does something bad its blamed on the person, but if they do something good, they get no credit because apparently "God" did it?
To answer your question...well, you don't really have a question, I can't answer if God is capable of not killing babies.
But yeah, if God created all people, he created Charles Manson and Adolf Hitler...so not everything God does is so great like everyone tries to act like.

My back is well up here. You raise a very good and fair point here, no mistaking that. What has gotten my back up are the idiots that say satan and mothers kill babies. Totally screwed up brainwashed lunatics that are too whacked out for asylums is the polite version of my thoughts on them.
I have lost 5 pregnancies. Never smoked, drank ,took drugs, I watched what I ate and what I did, yet these wastes of space say a fictional character or I killed my 5 babies ?
I am so grateful this is online as opposed to face to face as I am feeling very very resentful towards a few answerers right now.
At 36 I realise that for one reason or another my body is highly unlikely to provide me with even one of the children I always imagined myself having and to have a clueless moron say it's either a fictitious entity or me that killed the babies in my womb just adds insult to injury. In the meantime I will join you in taking god's name in vain at every possible opportunity if I see fit.

They are God's babies--he can kill them if he wants to, but I don't think he does.
Since you are taking his name in vain, your faith in God is stronger than you think.
If you were truly atheist, you would give much less thought to God and his rules about using his name. In fact, 'God damn it' should be meaningless to you, if you don't believe in god and don't think you can be damned.
So, either quit saying something you don't mean, or admit that you know God and figure out whether you are with or against him. That bad things happen doesn't disprove God--it shows that you don't understand what the will of God is. Prayer and contemplation could give you an inkling of his will, but it is complex--I don't understand it fully.
The parable of the tares and wheat explains some of this--a farmer is growing wheat and an enemy sows weeds in his field before the harvest. Pulling the weeds would kill some of the wheat, so instead he lets both grow, and sorts out the good from the bad when he's done harvesting.
If church people make you nervous (I've met some really bad church people too), learn a little more about God from the Bible and your own prayers on your own.

When are people going to quit trying to take the Bible as 100% fact about science and history. I don't believe it was ever intended for that? It's a how to live YOUR life book. It's not a how to live other people's lives book.
*LOL* And as far as taking the Lord's name in vain. Consider this. What we see today may have started with a Big Bang. But what was put together that made that size bang? Who did it? Are you that sure God doesn't exist you don't even think about what God could do to you? There was an awful lot going on that first femto-second.

I am curious how did you come up with the idea that God was killing babies. Have you witnessed this action taking place in person? He doesn't care if you take his name in vain. He has let his feelings be known on this subject and the repercussions of doing so. Live your life the way you want and be willing to pay the price without whining if you are wrong.

People kill babies. I guess with free will comes terrible choices. As far as taking God's name in vain, I doubt God is such a being that it would matter. That would simplify the concept of God as being some kind of parent that judges you on mere words. God is too vast for our true comprehension. Don't sweat it. You are here to learn, and forgive, and to show compassion.

God isn't killing the babies. People are!
Don't blame God for the misfortune that happens in this world.
The babies are better off with Him than with people as yourself

Good point.
Spontaneous abortions happen at a rate of 4 million a week. Each one of these is a baby killed by god. Plain and simple.
But the pro-life wack-jobs keep harping on the pitifully few theraputic abortions that are done on a required basis.
You really have to pity people like that.

God gives man free will. If man chooses to use thast gift to kill babies, it's not gods fault. When you witness the lord come out of heaven, and shoot a baby, then you can have apoint. But untill then, dont be so ignorant.
