That's cool you're agnostic. At least you would have a more open mind. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints I would like to say that we do allow blood transfusions and organ transplants. I think Xen mistook us for Christian Scientists or Jehovah's Witnesses when that was stated. Hmm, so if I say I believe with all my heart and soul that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and Redeemer of the world, and my personal Savior, I still can't be considered Christian to some people. I send you a gummy bear - which I believe is something most people can eat. Have a happy day.

Mormons while believing in the same basic structure that many of the people who follow Christian mythos, have slightly different and extreme beliefs that tend to estrange them from society.
The belief of pushing their religion on others. This is never welcome, look at all the arguments that are based on others trying to convert people. And Mormon's go door to door for this very reason.
The belief that a person cannot consume another human. Yeah, this is a good belief! But not when taken to the extreme that Mormons take it to. They are not allowed to get blood transfusions or organ replacements because that is considered imbibing another human. All fine and dandy if it is the adult making a conscience decision to do so, however they make this decision for their children. Something as simple and life saving as a blood transfusion is denied. They would rather watch their child die than go against their religion. I'm sorry... but this disturbs me. I have nothing against the people who practice the religion that don't encounter this choice, i have the problem with those that DO make the choice and watch their children die.

They're not the same. Other branches of Christianity at least pretend to be rooted in Christ. Mormons trace their roots to Joseph Smith, who founded the Church of Latter Day Saints in the United States with doctrines contrary to the Bible.

i think because first of all Mormons claim to be believers in Jesus Christ and many of their fundamental beliefs and teachings are quite different from Christianity. When Mormons call themselves Christians and their teachings are different- it will automatically solicit a response.
i don't agree with you that all religions are the same- though you are entitled to that viewpoint and perspective. From your point-of-view off course both what Mormons, Christians, and any other relgion teaches are the same (but if you knew the main beliefs of each religion you would see a very distinct difference).
Mormons are not Christians!
Hope that helps... Respectfully,
Nickster

The mormons...The Lost and Deceived of Satan(LDS)... are no different than any other man invented cult...
J Smith claimed to have received the correct and true bible directly from his god... and all of his henchmen confermed that it was the true bible...and that the Christians were the enemy and their Bible was false..... But the lost of that cult are not even instructed from J Smiths bible... Why? Now they even claim to be christian, which they aint... and they even say they believe the King James Bible of the Christian Faith...
If their very foundation is from J Smith...and the so-called bible he got is so full of error that they must keep it hidden and not use it for instructing the masses of the decieved...but now have to adopt the "enemies" text and name.... something do'nt smell right....

Being different does not necessary means bad.
Other persons negative opinion does not necessary serve as the truth.
All you who present yourself as open minded and intelligent people, what is wrong with having a religion that teaches self reliant, high moral standard, being honest, chaste and marriage fidelity.
How we belief is our choice, not yours, unless you have something against "Freedom of Religion"
You all may reject us, but do not make fake accusation, or distort
our gospel teachings. Your boring words just show how ignorant and uncivilized you are.

Because they believe insane things like
1) Native Americans are the lost tribes of Israel. You heard right, Indians are Jews.
2) If you have a dead relative who was a non-Mormon, you can pay to do a hocus-pocus ritual in Salt Lake City which will magically convert the relative to LDS post-mortem so you can be together in heaven!
3) Etc.

Masonic rituals
Full sets of underwear
Joseph Smith
different levels of heaven
men become gods
baptizing the dead
I know there are more, but do you need more?
I find them all absurd, but LDS had that extra little hint of insanity.
