Any child turning Atheist would be a very good thing and collectively, we must try and save people who believe in God.
I know there are many nice people who believe in God, and they wouldn’t intentionally harm anyone. I suspect they would be just as nice if they didn’t believe in God, it’s just how their biological model works for them.
The real evil amongst us, are the vast majority of religious followers and believers who have clearly shown over time to be the major instigators of wars, violence, abuse, greed and practically everything evil on our planet.
We must stop innocent young lives, especially from birth, from being sucked into this evil religious trap. Humanity deserves at least an effort being made in this direction rather than just watching religion and the so-called do goody goody followers corrupting our world with evil.
Many parents don’t allow their kids to watch various TV programmes or movie films, or read certain books, because they contain too much hatred, violence, killing, and murders which may cause negative thoughts and behaviour in their children.
However these same parents allow their kids to read the Bible, yet the Bible contains some of the worst hatred, violence, killing, and murders ever witnessed in Humanity. Certainly the Bible also contains some nice parts as do many of these other books, TV and films.
This is just hypocrisy when it comes to the Bible. In a child’s mind, hatred, violence, killing, and murders are all troublesome, yet the Bible is by far the worst offending material ever written by man.
Religious people are so cruel to their children, God is just a monster. Nothing could possibly be more mentally damaging to children than telling them over and over again from birth there exists an invisible person (God or whatever) who is unwilling to prove he exists watching them every second of every day, reading their thoughts, and if they don't believe in this invisible person they will be tortured for eternity.
Yet we tell the same children that monsters don't exist so it's silly to be scared of monsters.
I think if any child became Atheist they would be a lot happier.

If my child became religious I'd be at a loss. Humanity is supposed to progress by generation, right?

Why would you have to *do* anything? If they are living a moral life based on the things that you have taught them, that's all you can ask for.

Love him unconditionally and hope that some how I could get him to realize that there is a God and put him back on the right path.

I wouldn't care. It's their decision. Organised religion isn't for everybody.

Tell him to get a life and find something more productive to do than rant about how god doesn't exist and piss off those who believe in god. If he doens't listen to me, proper discipline will be administered.
