i totally agree with you Debra that the more we have , the less we appreciate
have you ever seen the love and happiness in the eyes of the poor when they are given something very simple ? .. children these days with so much material possessions seem to have forgotten how to be happy
i count my blessings every day though and do my best to give to those who need it

Yes. Yes, yes, yes. And yes.
I am not convinced you've got the statistics right, but I appreciate the point you are making.
Happiness has a different meaning among the extremely poor. It is all about health, enough food and water, a place they can call home, family.
Education is a luxury for many.
Thank goodness the sun rises for the poor as well.

I used to whine a lot about what I didn't have. Then when I actually stopped to realize how much I do have in life, it really makes a difference in one's attitude.
I had a little boy come up with his friend to my car one day and say, 'Ma'am can we have a dollar? Me and my friend want to get a snack' My heart just broke, and I would have given him a 5 had I had it. I'm guessing that if this kid had enough courage to come up to me and ask for money knowing what the world is like today, his conditions couldn't be that great. (was a poorer side of town) Children always manage to put us back in perspective and give us that viewpoint we often miss. =)

Hi Debra!! You answered my question so perfectly yesterday, that when I saw I had the chance to answer one of yours I couldn't help but respond!!
I can answer yes to all of the above questions. And I do feel called to share with others. I printed out 400 tracts for someone who is doing ministry in Nigeria and mailed them to her. All in all it cost me about $20.00 to do, but hopefully it will help her more than the $20.00 worth. I hope that with the tracts that I sent, that at least one person is brought to God through her work!!
And believe me, especially after your answer yesterday, I am having the most wonderful day today!! Thank you so much!! And peace be with you as well!! Thank you so much

Are you claiming that 90% of the world doesn't have food, clothes, or a home?
I think that estimate is a little high.

A nice sentiment! Words of wisdom that should be kept in mind every time the ball doesn't bounce exactly like we hoped it would.
