Hey baby God loves everyone despite the things that they do once you are willing to make a change , Although God loves you it is in your own best intreast to quit that bad habit . Doing anything too much is not a good idea even Ice-cream.
Pray about it and ask God to help you stop that bad habit . If you smoke a pack a week start by dividing it and leaving half in a safe place and continue to cut it down like that 2 weeks at a time until you are up to 1cig a week . It will all work out , your breathe wont smell bad , your lungs will not be tooo badly damaged , you will look and and smell 1000times better - It might even improve your sex life.
Signed,
Simply keeping it 100.

Two possible answers: Yes, it is a sin, because God says to care for your body as if it were a temple. Smoking is like walking inside a fancy church with a sledgehammer and destroying everything in site. That's my interpretation of this, though it may not be correct. The other answer is no, because it doesn't say any where in the Bible that it is wrong. But it doesn't say looking at pornagraphy is wrong, but we assume it is because lust is wrong. So really, it depends on how you look at it, right? Just remember, God will always LOVE you. He loves everyone. Even the ones that make Him seem unreal on this dreaded website.

Yes God still loves you, but how can God use you if you are addicted to something, that smoking cigarettes controls you, you live and work around smoking cigarrettes. It controls you. in the bible in 1 Corinthians 6:12: Everything is permissible for me, but not everything is beneficial. Everything is permissible for me, but I will not be mastered by anything.
All I'm saying is it isn't profitable for you or your body. You are the temple of the Holy Spirit. SO think about that and decide whether you still want to smoke

God will still love you no matter what you do. However this is not a free ticket to do whatever you want. God gave us free will in the hopes that we would choose him. We do have to ask for his forgiveness. Smoking is a sin because it destroys the temple of God (our Body) Ask God to give you the strength to quit smoking and thank him every day for that strength whether you quit right away or not. You will with Gods help overcome anything.

It's a sin if you smoke in the presence of non-smokers.
It's a sin if you burn down a house with other people inside.
It's a sin if you start a brush fire by chucking your still-lit butt out the window of your car.
It's a sin if you litter (and almost all smokers do).
God will still love you. God will forgive you. God gave you the brains to have not started smoking in the first place. Give it up.

who told you that smoking is a sin?
The Bible never directly mentions smoking. There are a couple of principles, however, that definitely apply to smoking. First, the Bible commands us to not allow our bodies to become "mastered" by anything. 1 Corinthians 6:12 declares, "Everything is permissible for me" - but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible for me" - but I will not be mastered by anything." Smoking is undeniably strongly addictive. Later in the same passage we are told, "Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body" (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).
Not everything is a sin, this is guidance from God, not inviolate rules. Violating this does not make you a sinner, but nevertheless, you must strive everyday to resolve and evolve. God molds our lives everyday in his hands. Work with Him to stop smoking.

I smoked cigarettes for 25 years and was up to two packs a day. I was diagnosed with early stages of emphysema. I thought hard about it. I realized that I was being self-destructive by smoking,,, and that God doesn't want us to be destructive to others or ourselves,, because he loves us. He will still love you,, but you may still face the consequences of emphysema or lung cancer,,,, because the Bible says not to tempt or test the Lord. We can't jump off a cliff and expect not to hit the bottom and get hurt.

I smoked for over 30 years... up to 5 packs a day at the end... quit cold turky 10 yrs ago... became of the Christian Faith just over 6 yrs ago... I can say that any thing that damages the body is a sin. If you are truly of the Christian Faith then you are definatly sinning to smoke... God loves all of His creation... He loved you enough to make a way for you to come to him... a Way for you to be cleansed of you sin... use that Way and quit.. The love of God is yours with no strings attached... show your love for God by making yourself as free of mortal acts which lead to sin as you can... Make your body as clean as you can to show your love for him
If I could quit cold turky as a non believer back then... it will be much easier for you as a believer... Ask God for the strength you need and just QUIT!

He will still love you, but smoking is a sin. Your body is a temple of God, and you are defiling it.
God will help you to quit smoking, if you have faith and ask Him, and really want to stop badly.

God will love you no matter what. However, He also said to treat your body like a temple. No one can smoke in a temple can they? ( I am a smoker too. I have been battling with the same question for a while and then I realized I was just waiting for someone to tell me it was okay even though I knew it was wrong.)
