In 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 (yes in the King James version), Paul offers a list of sins that would keep a person out of Heaven. Among those listed are theft, homosexuality, and adultery. However, it seems that only thieves and homosexuals are condemned out of the three. In Luke 16:18, Christ defined a man or woman who has divorced and remarried as also being an adulterer. So shouldn't remarried people be condemned as well? Why on Earth are the thieves and homosexuals, out of the three, the only ones that get picked on by fundamentalists? I thought people were not allowed to pick and choose what to follow out of the Bible.

I think that "Worry" for me has been one of the biggest stumbling blocks to faith and spirituality. It does not accomplish anything positive. It does not help it only hinders. All I can do is the best I can and then leave the rest to my Creator God. How do you feel about "Worry" and have you laid it to rest. I have and I try to keep it there.
Peace Be With You,
Debra

for Jewish Muslims and all that reject the truth that he came to die in our place and give us amazing grace come into our heart and be our best friend-why not believe him- and Isaiah- chapters 52 vs 13-53 vs 12 in it it says -He will be despised and rejected and lay down his life to forgive our sins and be our blood atonement, as the anointed one (Messiah) as promised Isaiah stated "He will be exaulted, but first marred more than any man, and lay down his life an atonement for our sins.
its simple why not believe Him?
the Messiah said "Behold i stand at your heart and knock, if u let me in i will come in deliver from sins and become your friend."
As a true believer -i prayed-"I believe you, come into my heart forgive my sins and become my friend, amen"

Not because I can be vindictive (because I know I can) not because I can vent my rage (Because you know I do) and not because I have a genius mind (of course that is my opinion of myself based on the capacity for intelligence I have seen delivered on these pages and the ration of those that truely use this resource as a motivator vs POINT WHORES-U R welcome 4 the 3 points the two you collected and the one you allowed me to make;-)) but because I was not brought up religiously and so I never had the benefit of what churches provided for their communities-rather I was a military brat and travled much of the northern hemisphere and came to find that I was prejudiced. I absolutely despies prejudiced people-I love the diversity of the world and Hope that one day when we all realize that this world is only as great as we make it that we as mankind will be able to leave our mark in History as being the Generation that was able to put our differences aside-agree not to disagree-and find LOVE!

They just have to marry someone of the opposite gender who's not a close relative -- just like the rest of us!

They don't want equal rights to marriage -- they already have them!

"Right to marry" is not synonymous with "right to change the definition of marriage to suit my sexual lifestyle."

My grandfater died about 8 years ago. I would take my daughter to visit him in the hospital. He was pretty out of it and didn't have long to go. Whenever he saw my little daughter he smiled ear to ear, but when I got close to him his facial expression became one of fear. I was totally confused, him and I always got along really well - was unsettling. Made me wonder if he was seeing something I wasn't aware of.

Any ideas?

With all of the debate going on about homosexuality can a christian see it as wrong but still be ok with it. I am Christian and i don't believe that homosexuality is right but i also believe in freedom and that if thats what someone wants or likes then let them have it. I personally am not going to go around like an extremeist and tell people they will burn in hell for commiting homosexual acts. As for marriage i believe that if homosexuals want to get married they they should be able to through the court if it is legal. Just because a homosexual couple are "married" doesnt mean it has to be a christian marriage. I believe the state shouldnt only recognize male female marriages as defined by christianity since there is seperation of church and state. As for people that commit acts agains homosexuals and claim to be christian what happened to living by the law of the land? I just want to get your opinions on this

I am trying to figure out this whole religion thing. I got to thinking and figured out that I couldn't come up with God's name. What is his name? Also, when you pray to God, what do you picture? I have always pictured Jesus. So, if Jesus isn't God, what do you picture?

What did God do during that eternity before he created everything? If God was all that existed back then, what disturbed the eternal equilibrium and compelled him to create? Was he bored? Was he lonely? God is supposed to be perfect. If something is perfect, it is complete--it needs nothing else.

Just pondering this;
It takes a certain type of person to believe in something that there has never been any evidence for, such as believing in a Deity of some description.
Being a Scientist and an Athiest I have no idea how people can blindly do this.
However, I was just wondering if it takes the same mentality to believe in other such phenomena as Ghosts, Telepathy, Telekinesis, which there are equally as little evidence or proof as it does a Deity?
Is it just the religion surrounding the God which dictates the unconditional belief, or the need to believe in something more? Or is it just plain gullibility?

When I feel wronged I have a tendency to either wish something bad would happen to that person, or want revenge! God did say an eye for and eye didn’t he, but god also said we should lesson to our parents and my mother said if you go for and eye for an eye we would all be blind! People can really piss me off thou when I get fowled for going ya I get more points and some stupid ***** than fowls me and takes them away I wish some one would push her off a cliff, when some one cuts me off when I am driving I hope they get in a car wreck, and when some one calls me a mean name I hope that some one will make them eat soap! Is that normal? Is it evil? Do others sometimes think that way?

After the huge muslim uproar over the accidental shooting of a suspect during a muslim terror raid in forest gate- london, why arent the muslims disowning him after police found he was involved in illegal kiddie activities?

when muslims fell down on their faces while praying, that's how you should pray to God. as Abraham the father of all the prophets, he did the same thing.

Genesis
17:3 And Abraham fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying,

why don't you pray like Abraham?

Okay, I was sick of all the "Christians have low IQ" statements disguised as questions, so I finally decided to do my research of my own. I found this article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religiosity_and_intelligence) on Wikipedia which listed some studies which actually showed a correlation (and yes, I took a stats class, I know correlation is not the same as causation) showing the more a person was devoted to their religion the lower their education and IQ scores tended to be.

It didn't however specify any sort of religion, it was a combination of Christians, Muslims, Jews, Pagans, etc.

In fact the only time Christians are specifically mentioned is in the "counter trends and anomalies" section. Where one denomination showed the more devout a person was, the higher their education level and IQ tended to be.

I wondered what your thoughts were on this. Have you seen any accredited studies that have shown similar, or different findings?

The previous question about this made me think of this:

Do you think mass murderers have a chance even on their death beds to accept God? Jesus?

If so, and they get to go to heaven, then what's the point? Why bother being a "good person" throughout life? Why deny yourself anything, and try to live by God's code, if you can be the worst b*stard that ever lived and as long as you say you're REALLY REALLY sorry before you die, you get to go to heaven anyway?

Quote from CBS news.
And it continues to this day: Kansas reinstated the teaching of evolution this year, 18 months after the state school voted to drop it from classes. Alabama's school board voted to put stickers on biology books warning that evolution is controversial.

My real question is that should a warning sticker be put on religious books for the same reason that they may be controversial?

So, we shouldn't do things that are unnatural and/or perverse, right? What about peeing into a toilet? That is completely unnatural. How is it okay for Christians?

And what about personal hygiene? It completely goes against nature, so should it be banned?

So, there are no deeper feelings involved when two people of the same sex have sex? And no one else does things just for pleasure, right? Heterosexual couples who cannot conceive should not have sex? The only reason everyone else ever has sex is to reproduce?

Except that many gay people would still want to have kids and science can make that happen...?
