In 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 (yes in the King James version), Paul offers a list of sins that would keep a person out of Heaven. Among those listed are theft, homosexuality, and adultery. However, it seems that only thieves and homosexuals are condemned out of the three. In Luke 16:18, Christ defined a man or woman who has divorced and remarried as also being an adulterer. So shouldn't remarried people be condemned as well? Why on Earth are the thieves and homosexuals, out of the three, the only ones that get picked on by fundamentalists? I thought people were not allowed to pick and choose what to follow out of the Bible.

If you continue to read -

1 Corinthians 6:11 That is what some of you used to be; but now you have had yourselves washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.

According to Paul, once they have been washed, sanctified and justified they are no longer considered unworthy of entrance into Heaven. Why do people who choose to use this passage fail to include that verse? Even homosexuals, theives and the ones who have remarried will be allowed into Heaven should they be washed, sanctified and justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.

Side note - In the RC religion, if an anullment is granted then essentially the marriage never took place, and the parties involved are free to marry again with no repercussions. They are also free to marry should their spouse pass away.

To Blackwidow - Please show me the EXACT chapter and verse in the Bible that says Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed because of homosexuality. Genesis 19 does not mention homosexuality at all but does mention incest. God not only destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah but 3 other cities as well. Were they all destroyed because of so-called homosexuality or were they destroyed because of other grave sins?

See the problem here is that you forget that the bible says everything is wrong so you really can't go on that. I mean after all it is a work of fiction and a great one at that don't get me wrong.

As far as why homosexually is wrong you have to look at it for what it is, and how it came about to be wrong. You see in the early days of man when we were at the top of the food chain we had to survive and make kids. So if same sex couple got together it was considered wrong cause you can't have kids. While remarried people can continue the species. So that why it was considered wrong no cause its "Unholy" but because in those day it was a fight to continue the species that is man

In my study of the bible, I have learned that Jehovah is a god of standards. A person who PRACTICES any of the things that you mention is in violation with God's law. A person who practices stealing, homosexuality, fornication, (and yes homosexuality is fornication) is violating gods law. A remarried person who remarries no longer practices fornication if they have repented and turned around and do not practice or break gods law. The bible does tell us the bases in which a person can seek a divorce. Only one reason and that is fornication. So shouldn't the innocent party be aloud to remarry if the other spouse has broken the marriage bed. Also God does forgive ones that turn around and stop doing things that violate God's law. I think your question should be " Is the practice of Homosexuality right in Gods eyes?" After all who are we trying to please....man or God?

There are some exceptions to those rules.... such as: if a spouse cheats then the other one is free from the marriage; if a Christian marries a non-Christian, and the Non-Christian wants to leave they are free (but not the other way around.) You can't just pick verses without finding EVERYTHING on marriage in the Bible and comparing them.... using a handful of verses takes things out of context.

The only two ways that you can remarry is if your spouse is either dead, or if they cheated on you. Under no other circumstances are people to remarry as commanded by God. As far as Homosexuals, God destroyed entire cites because of Homosexuality, what does that tell you about how we should view it too?

That passage you refer to is most often misunderstood because it may be poorly translated. The question was not 'can a man get a divorce?'-but it was 'can he divorce for "NO" reason?' Jesus said no. If you divorce for "no reason" and marry another you commit adultery.
The Bible assumes remarriage after divorce. Divorce is not sin, neither is remarriage. Sin causes divorce.
Homosexuality on the other hand is a terrible sin.

because 50% of the population has divorces, whereas onl 4-10% are gay. (I don't know stats on theives...) It is pure cynicism-- if the churches start condemning divorced people, then lots of those folks will stop coming, stop giving money. It makes them all feel much better (and self-righteous) to pick on someone else, I believe.

Because those who are against homosexuality and say it is a sin and homos go to hell are bigots and usually the worst, depraved, perverted people known to society and they seem to feel the need that it is ok to be as evil as they are because they believe in the "faith"

A more important question is why are people conserned with what Paul had to say, shouldn't they be focusing a little harder on what Christ had to say?

If Christ was alive today I doubt he would judge people as much as the Christians do.
