Personally I don't see a difference between getting a picture or phrase tattooed on and getting makeup tattooed on. I've talked to another member friend and she doesn't see a difference either. Do you see a difference between a "regular" tattoo and getting makeup (eyeliner, lipliner, eyebrows) tattooed on.

Would Christians call themselves Christian and never in a life time read the Bible? Can there be one without the other?

I know, I’m answering my own question, but I do not believe you can. All logic can do is give validity to a concept. Validity by the way does not equal truth. You can give an atheist your conclusion, the hypothesis and theory that lead you to that conclusion, but ultimately there has to be empirical evidence that they personally experience, or a leap of faith, in order for them to believe. Personally I don't know how crucial it is for everyone to believe in the Existence of God as I am sure that there are many morally sound atheists and that via enough lifetimes they'll figure it our anyway. How’s that for empirical?

Why the hell most Christians at this time crying about innocent ppl been killed in Lebanon? Have they read OT and see how it was done by GOD's unconditional love?
If we look at the situation.. If any Christian was killed he is automaticly in heaven. If any non Christian is killed he is automaticly in hell. Isn't that a Jesus or Christinianity teaching?
WHy so much fuss when that's exactly what Christianity is implying. Ok he did not leave long enough but the guy in heaven for eternity. What can be better . Or it seems that Christian now are being jelous that ppl goes to heaven before them?
Some1 explain the idea of being Christian if going to heaven is not a such a good thing after all.

Do you think God really speaks that way like in the bible about some certain things like "Gays" for example?

To me, we make our destinies........and we have our way how we see life but do you think its cruel not to accept some certain things even it was from the bible and not really the "Man" saying it? Sometimes I think the bible is all made up by man, but I think God loves us, and if he thinks inpropriate, at least we know we are guilty...........

I mean it. I've got a neighbor with 3 fish symbols on her vehicle and she has a dog that runs loose terrorizing the neighborhood and is generally a *****! Know others like this too. It's the people, not the religion, that truly suck.

Willys cynical thought for the day;

If money is, really, the root of all evil, why do preacher's want it so freaking badly?

Jesus and Satan were having an ongoing argument about who was better on his computer. They had been going at it for days, and God was tired of hearing all of the bickering.

Finally God said, "Cool it. I am going to set up a test that will run two hours and I will judge who does the better job."

So down Satan and Jesus sat at the keyboards and typed away.

They moused.

They did spreadsheets.

They wrote reports.

They sent faxes.

They sent e-mail.

They sent out e-mail with attachments.

They downloaded.

They did some genealogy reports.

They made cards.

They did every known job.

But ten minutes before their time was up, lightning suddenly flashed across the sky, thunder rolled, the rain poured and, of course, the electricity went off.

Satan stared at his blank screen and screamed every curse word known in the underworld.

Jesus just sighed.

The electricity finally flickered back on, and each of them restarted his computer.

Satan started searching frantically, screaming "It's gone! It's all gone! I lost everything when the power went out!"

Meanwhile, Jesus quietly started printing out all of his files from the past two hours.

Satan observed this and became irate. "Wait! He cheated, how did he do it?"

God shrugged and said, "Jesus saves."

I think even if it was the most evil guy in the world, who wants to change to be good, I still think God will forgive. God is full of mercy and even if we think about the past God wants us to be prepare of the unexpecting future..........

We have our Consequences for our sin, but I think God did that to show we really can't do it again and it is to show he is doing it for the good for us............

I have sinned and I'm still worried about my issues :( but I still pray for forgiveness and ask God for help when I'm scared, worried , even if it was my cause..............God's love comes in different ways.....................

What is God waiting for? What is this second coming I've heard so much about? I find it hard to believe that the world came to be this way merely by accident, so I do believe a higher power exists. However, I want proof that my good faith is not in vain, and I say that now is as good of a time as any, wouldn't you all agree? Sitting here and waiting hasn't worked for centuries has it? So maybe, it is actually more that he is waiting for us to call on him. If God is all powerful, then it shouldn't be a problem for him to prove to us that he really exists, and not with coincidental things that aren't really proof. People of all religions and faiths, hear me now. Gather your people together and pray for the second coming so that all may know the truth once and for all! The damned be damned, and those who are saved will live peacefully for eternity correct? Let it happen now, because the suspense is killing me!

I ask this question because when anyone makes the same types of remarks about Roman Catholics, it's just laughed off and Catholics are told to lighten-up and get over it. I'm not sticking up for Mel Gibson and I do believe he was wrong but I don't understand the acceptance of bigotry when it is applied to Roman Catholics. Why is one minority considered fair game and even an accepted American past-time and another minority held so sacred as to totally trash someone who says something bigoted about them?.

Im playing devil advocate here but what proof do we have of god. I mean hard material proof. The same could be said for science such as the big bang ect. So what if some people wrote down things in a book and so what if Jesus said he was gods son ( or god in human form) What does that prove. Just because someone says something it doesnt make it true. People lie. Everyone uses their religious text and circular reasoning to support themselves. Can anyone give hard evidence of the existance of a God. Now remember im just playing devil advocate so please dont jump me this is just for the sake of discussion so play nice please.

Born on December 25th
Born to a Virgin
Had twelve disciples
Travelled far and wide as a teacher and illuminator of men
Is part of a Holy Trinity
Had a "last supper" with his followers
Was crucified
Was buried in a tomb from which he rose again from the dead before ascending to heaven

Sound like your lord?

Congratulations, you've just worshipped Mithras!

Mithras was long revered by the Persians and the Indians around 600 BCE, as "God's Messenger of Truth"

Notice any similarities to your lord? I mean if your lord was Dionysus, tammuz, adonis, hercules, robin hood, or even Jesus.

Do some research. Don't blindly follow what your preacher/family tells you. Read the bible for yourself. Read bible criticisms. Read, read read outside the bible. Is your life not worth it?

p.s. When asked about the similarities of Jesus to these other god's I've mentioned, the official church position is "the devil went back in time and planted these stories to tempt you"

Nice.

Why is it that when you see someone's response (or even more hilariously.. the question itself) and it's in all caps... that person seems to be a religious adherant? I'm not saying we don't all use caps once in awhile, but I don't think I've ever seen any non-religious person use the "all-caps shout."

Am I the only one who thinks this?
