What is God waiting for? What is this second coming I've heard so much about? I find it hard to believe that the world came to be this way merely by accident, so I do believe a higher power exists. However, I want proof that my good faith is not in vain, and I say that now is as good of a time as any, wouldn't you all agree? Sitting here and waiting hasn't worked for centuries has it? So maybe, it is actually more that he is waiting for us to call on him. If God is all powerful, then it shouldn't be a problem for him to prove to us that he really exists, and not with coincidental things that aren't really proof. People of all religions and faiths, hear me now. Gather your people together and pray for the second coming so that all may know the truth once and for all! The damned be damned, and those who are saved will live peacefully for eternity correct? Let it happen now, because the suspense is killing me!

"No, He is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to perish, so He is giving more time for everyone to repent. "

It would be impossible for everyone to repent all at once, therefore, this is an impossible scenario.

I am a person who lives by the ideal that I don't believe it until I see it. Don't give me the, "You can't see air, but you can still breath it" argument either.

I don't doubt the existence of God, but I want proof. This is selfish of myself, that is true, but I also believe it's selfish to create life, test the life knowing full and well that it is not perfect to see if it will remain loyal to you, and then send what fails the test to eternal damnation.

So, I don't think it's asking too much for some actual proof instead of telling us to have blind faith in a book that was written by multiple people centuries ago. Those guys could have been ******* for all we know.

By the way, I was just kidding everyone. You'd have to be complete morons to believe anything I just said in the main post, so for not having a sense of humor, I'm not picking a best answer.

Don't hold your breath...you might, however, want to go enroll in a few science classes and realize how beautiful, amazing, and inspiring the workings of science are. It manages to explain much of the world without needing any purpose at all. I don't think waiting for the second-coming is going to turn out to be real successful for you.

Romans 1 verses 18 -20

But God shows His anger from Heaven against all sinful, wicked people who push the truth away from themselves. For the truth about God is known to them instinctively. God has put this knowledge in their hearts. From the time the world was created, people have seen the earth and the sky and all that God made. They can clearly see His invisible qualities - His eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse whatsoever for not knowing God.

2 Peter chapter 3 verse 3

First, I want to remind you that in the last days, there will be scoffers who will laugh at the truth and do every evil thing they desire. This will be their argument. Jesus promised to come back, did He? Then where is He? Why, as far back as anyone can remember, everything has remained exactly the same since the world was first created.

v 8 - onwards

But you must not forget, dear friends, that a day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day. The Lord isn't really being slow about His promise to return, as some people think. No, He is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to perish, so He is giving more time for everyone to repent. But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief. Then the Heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and everything in them will disappear in fire, and the earth, and everything on it will be exposed to judgment.

you can't ask for "proof" to justify your "faith". believing even though we don't have all the answers is what faith is all about.

you have to have accepted Christ BEFORE the end times. of course a lot of ppl are going to figure out that God exists when millions of ppl disappear, there're world-wide earthquakes, etc. (although some of the narrow-minded ppl are still going to come up with ridiculous explanations for everything besides a supernatural event).

but we have to find the truth before that. don't tell God, 'i'm going to wait until these "end times" everyone's talking about before i believe', because God has already come once into this world, and when He comes again it will be with fire and with judgement.

Believe now so that you can have the proof without the eternal damnation that could follow if you wait too long.

What I think, is that God should give us proof. Send another one of his messengers down to us and proove that God is real. But God is quite real if you believe in him deeply and you have a personal relationship with him. It's quite obvious if you actually do believe into him. I am not looking for anyone to tell me that I gave them the best answer, but I like giving alittle good advice to people. Take Care.

The Bible shows that when Jesus comes back it will not be discernible by all people. John 14:19 See also Acts 1:6, 10, 11 He told his disciples that the same way he left, would be the way he would return. Who was there when he left? His disciples. Who saw him leave? His disciples. Jesus disciples asked him signs of his presence which you can read in Matthew the 24th chapter. Jesus true disciples would be able to recognize his presence through understanding, not visible signs. Ephesians 1:18 The only point at which Jesus' enemies would finally notice his presence, is when destruction is finally taking place. What does this mean we need to do? We need to strive to learn what the signs of Jesus presence are and then watch for them. All the signs that Jesus spoke of, are clearly discernible today. And they are intensifying. The Bible shows, that for a period of time, Jesus would rule in the midst of his enemies, so destruction was not to be sudden. His enemies would be allowed to remain for a short while. (see Psalms 110:2) The time to confirm your belief in God and Jesus is now, not when this sign you are speaking of appears. At that point, it will be too late. You seem to recognize that this is something important so don't spend your time looking for signs from heaven. God has given you an entire book of examples of His power, and the avenue he expects us to go in order to gain salvation. All of us would love to see signs and miracles. In due time we will, now is the time to focus on building our relationship with God by learning the truth about His word and following it.

Man, if faith were sure, it wouldn't be faith. If I have a qrarter in my hand and I tell you, then you have faith that I have a quarter in my hand. If I open my hand and show you a quarter, your faith is destroyed.
