Is this a question or an insult? The fact is that 11 out of 12 apostles and Paul were so sure in what they believed that they were willing to die and 1 (John) was willing to go to prision. Were they all delusional? What are the chances that Jesus would pick 12 people that would begin spreading His gospel so that 2 billion out of 6 billion people would claim they are Christians? What are the chances they were all crazy? Slim to none. How strong are your beliefs? People have read the Bible for themselves and discovered for themselves the truth about life with the hope Jesus Christ. You should try it for yourslef.

I agree that the power of myth is great. Take for example the illogical myth that the universe created itself out of nothing. It's hard to believe, but people with an education actually believe such things. I am sure no Realistic Human would be so off-kilter, though.

The Fool says in his heart there is no God.
I am Trained in how to Run a Nuclear Reactor. I also was a self taught Accountant for a 50 Million Dollar a year Export Business. I have been a Realtor and Now own my own Business I have a 156 IQ (that is pretty good) I would like to think I am pretty Intelligent. How could I NOT believe in the ONE thing that is so SELF EVIDENT that I was CREATED and that the one who created me OBVIOUSLY LOVES ME.

Hmm let me guess you're an atheist, Christianity isn't a myth, if it was people are dying all over world for it in vain. Only a fool says there is no God! More blessed are they that believe and have not seen.

Nay, rather, how can a super intelligent (proud ?) individual like you figure out such a DEEP issue all by himself, and yet FAIL to explain the shallower derivative one about human beings etc.

It's like an Escoffier Master Chef not knowing how to boil a three minute egg.

That one baffles me.

Something's out-of-plumb.

Search your insides for the why of this oddity.

Well, you accept that God is supernatural. You accept that Jesus died, is God, and can save you from Hell (which you also accept exists).

Since science arguments center around the natural and not the supernatural, they don't contradict. If you are open-minded about the Bible and use it in the context it was written, you aren't burdened by contradictions which atheists believe pervade it.

Then, you are free to accept God if you so choose.

Atheists of course argue that they are high minded intellectuals, and that other are below them. Does that make them the highest 2.36% of intelligent people in the world? I hardly think so, many many scientists and many great scientists believed in God.

I still can't believe that people are so high and mighty to think that there is nothing bigger out there. There is no way humans are capable of keeping the world running, we would have destroyed each other thousands of years ago. Please don't slam the intelligence of believers.

um, because it's not a myth . . . you probably won't be open-minded enough to read all of this, since you're obviously strongly prejudiced against Christianity already (whether or not you're an atheist doesn't matter) but here goes anyway:

Christians have a lot of evidence to support our beliefs . . . we're not just accepting everything on "blind faith". we've got brains, you know.

our best reason for believing is Jesus. you're not going to deny that Jesus of Nazareth existed (nobody else does). what you probably demand is proof that He was the Son of God. if you want to ignore all the miracles, ect. that He backed up His divinity with, then fine. they aren't necessary to prove who He was.

C.S. Lewis once said that it all boils down to three options as to Christ's nature: he was either a liar, a lunatic, or Lord.

Nobody thinks He was insane. there's no evidence whatsoever from which to draw that conclusion. He just didn't fit that profile, and aside from the whole coming-back-from the dead thing, He was physically and mentally a normal human being, not some nutcase who thought he was God.

so what a lot of atheists or just non-Christians in general want to believe is that He was a liar -- that when He said

"I am the Messiah",
"I am the Way and the Truth and the Light; no one comes to the Father except through me," and
"You are right in saying I am a king . . . for this purpose was i sent to Earth."

-- that when He said these things He knew perfectly well that they were 100% false.

okay, well first you have to assume that Jesus had some reason for wanting to mislead thousands of ppl into thinking that He was the Messiah

-- then you have to count the dozens of prophecies, written centuries before His birth, that He fulfilled, as being mere coincidences

--you also have to pretty much ignore all the evidence as to Christ's character -- the many instances that showed Him to have a humble, loving, generous heart, and instead somehow portray Him as a total egomaniac who is extremely greedy and selfish

-- besides which you also have to come up with some explanation other than divinity for the many ppl whom He healed, cast demons out of, and raised from the dead, among other things.

--and you have to assume that this mortal man, who knows perfectly well that He isn't God or the Son of God or divine in any way, is willing to thumb his nose at the Romans, tick off Pilate, refuse to give any defense in His own name while on trial, and then be hung on a cross until dead -- merely to prove a point.

-- you also have to convince yourself that this man doesn't care that he won't be able to fulfill the resurrection part of this whole deal, since he is in fact, NOT the Messiah, and that he doesn't think that he's going to lose any of his credibility as a God even though he's now DEAD.

really, when you think about it, there is no reason why this guy would be willing to die to spread the idea of his own divinity when he won't be around later to reap the benefits of being worshipped as a God. i mean, plenty of ppl in the world have claimed to be God, the Roman emperors of Jesus' time among them, but nobody was like, "Hey, i'm God, so i'm just going to die over here to prove it to you people."

there's no way someone would carry a lie that far, unless of course he was insane, which has already been discounted in Jesus' case.

so what's left to consider?

that Christ was Lord, Messiah, God on earth. i can hardly believe that so many people, when presented with the logic and uncontrovertible facts of these areguments, are still so narrow-minded that they won't even listen to them, much less believe the truth.

Jesus was and is the Son of God, the Savior of Mankind, and the Lord of my life and of many other intelligent humans' lives.

(btw, in case you're wondering whether I personally qualify as intelligent, i can tell you that i'm in college studying architecture, i've had a 4.0 GPA my entire life, i got a 33 on the ACT, i taught myself to read at the age of two, i was early identified as being "gifted," and my IQ is about 140. besides all that, i have an important trait i like to call COMMON SENSE. I know you have no way of knowing if all this is true, but it is)
