What could possibly be more mentally damaging to children than telling them over and over again from birth there exists an invisible person (God or whatever) who is unwilling to prove he exists watching them every second of every day, reading their thoughts, and if they don't believe in this invisible person they will be tortured for eternity?

Yet we tell the same children that monsters don't exist so it's silly to be scared of monsters.

In my humble opinion there is no force of creation by whatever name you choose that wants to destroy the expression of itself as Earth, humanity or any other form, through plain and simple unloving acts and disregard for the foundations of decency and respect. Hellooooo out there. I look forward to a time when unity and cooperation will create the heaven everyone alludes to in religious beliefs ~ we really are brother and sisters on this spaceship called Earth. As has been said: We are the ones we've been waiting for. A wake up call is in order.

Also, in response to Bill459, you kind of made my point by calling God He, which is fine with me although I don't think of the creater in terms of human gender; and regarding references to condoning killing ~ I'm not an expert on scripture, but my point was that that is what is being implied by so many whether they are aware of it or not. In search of answer to my predicament( I desperately want to become straight and have been looking for a solution. I have been a christian since I was young). I see questions on here all the time about how God created the universe or how nothing created the universe. Insted of actually trying to find out how the Earth got here we should try to fix it. Humans shouldn't care about the past right now. With all that is going on we may not have a future.

No one seems to care about the future of the world. Everyone is being so selfish. Only caring for themselves. When they see a homeless person on the streets what do they do? They walk right by. This man or woman was your fellow human but you just leave them there to continue to suffer. Yes they were there from birth or due to some financial problems but that doesn't mean they don't deserve another chance.

We got like a dozen wars in the middle east that are escalating to even more craziness. No one seems to care. In the shopping market I see more people pick up celebrity magazines and gaming magazines instead of a newspaper or something else related to the real world and helping it.

I am being absolutely serious.
I do have morals, my biggest are:
Respect others beliefs even if you believe the opposite
People only live once and then die (in my belief) so cause them no pain while they are here or you are only being a big jerk

Yes Creastionism is a theory because it is unprovable by todays standards. Evolution is also a theory (even though there is more hard evidence backing it up then just a book). Seriously, where are the scientific studies to prove religion (and you can't disprove anything until you agree of proofs, which are truths that can only exist when other things are false). If anyone says the bible is proof then you're an idiot and don't bother posting an answer. If you think MAN (a lying and deceitful creator) wrote the bible on truth (I'd make up a religion if I knew idiots would fall for it) then you are crazy. I want scientific proof that God does exist, and not half-truth stories of seeing the virgin Mary in your apple sauce. Evolution has fossil and on going studies showing that it is possible to have evolved, and if you say fossils are here to test my faith, then why would one want to believe in such a malicious God anyway? Someone show me some proof of Creationism.
