Getting baptized is a very special moment in your life. You are standing up and saying that you are a Christian, old enough to make the decision for yourself that you accept that Christ died for your sins ... so I think that jeans and a shirt are not appropriate for the occasion. A white dress would be much more suitable for this serious, yet most joyous day in your life. Congratulations on your decision! Have a beautiful day!! God bless!

Since when is there a dress code for getting baptized!? Oh, that's right.... you would want to offend God's sense of fashion. Seriously.... jeans and a nice white shirt should be fine.... my pastor wears an old pair of slacks and a usually a blue t-shirt!! It's not the clothes that are important.... don't let that bog you down... congrats...

A) Ask yur pastor, preacher, rverend, whatever.

B) If he/she isn't available, then look at the jeans. Are they clean? Are they neat? Are they without spot, stain or wrinkle? Are they without tears, split seams, frayed hems and dangling threads? If so, then wear them.
If not, think about what you're saying to all those witnesses and to God. In essence, "Yo, Lord! Don't think just because I'm gettin' dunked, I'm gonna change my ways or care about YOUR will any more than I did before." Hmmmmmm, is this really the message, the impression you want to give? If not, then go buy something new, something white, something decent.

Depends on what church you go to. If you see people wearing jeans to church on Sunday, then go ahead. If all the women wear dresses, well, time to go shopping.

If it were me, I'd get the dress, not only because it's what's expected, but also because it's a special occasion and you deserve to get some special new clothes. I'd go all out, get a new slip, shoes, some pretty, delicate jewelry, stuff to go in your hair, everything.

White jeans and a white shirt will do just fine. There are no special dressing codes for such occasions. Just don't show up like you're ready to go jogging ;-)

Check with your Church. Every Church is different as some let you wear whatever you want.

Be very careful of wearing white as you dont want this to turn into a wet t-shirt contest.

White jeans? I didn't know they existed. I'd wear orange just to be original. If your god cared what you wore he wouldn't let his believers get baptized in all white.

This is an important day. I would have to say the jeans are out. get a nice white sundress, nothing that you shouldn't wear in church, something really simple.

... you should find out from the person who is doing the baptism. Or more specifically from the person(s) whoever told you that you should wear white in the first place.

If you cannot afford to buy a simple white dress ... that is it ... you just cannot afford it ...

But if you can ... go ahead buy the dress

... this is a once in a lifetime "ceremony"
