If you look at all of Christianity as a whole, do you feel there are many who are not TRUE Christans? If so, do you feel that those who are not true Christians gives Christianity a bad name?

Mar 12:17 And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marvelled at him.

Jesus and god make it clear that you are supposed to follow the government. So are you performing god's will by following tyrants?

Does it say anywhere in the bible that revolution is justified in getting rid of a tyrant? Are you breaking biblical law by not submiting to totalitarians?

Lazy as in they havent really read the book they think has the answers?
By "lazy" I mean most Christians could not have possibly read the Bible and still say that it is the unerring word of God......unless you think that God is a psychopath that condones mass killing, rape, slavery, mutilation, etc. Secondly, it doesn't take much effort to realize that the savior motif has a history in many religions and mythology hundreds or evern thousands of years prior to Christianity.....heck it's even in Egyptian hieroglyphs. In fact there is not one idea that is original in Christianity except that after a few hundred years it was made be literal for power and control. I won't even go into all the forgeries and atrocities required to "spread" the word.
Besides all that.....let's just think for a moment:

We see alot of arguing on here as to whether or not God exists, and that there is no proof, (bear with me I'm playing devil's advocate here) could it be argued that God exists in the same way that Dracula or Frankenstein exist. On paper, thereby giving us evidence that God does in fact exist (if no where else but on paper). I don't know, too much time on my hands. Thoughts?

Paul S asked me: You might help out by better explaining what you mean by "faith alone" (you seem to be one of the rare people who really understands this). Can you post a question or two that will help the Christians understand faith and the futility of trying to prove or find evidence for their belief in god? "

SURE! Faith, to Christians, "is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Faith is what we have, when we cant prove something to be right or wrong, to be there or not.

Often times, Christians tend to be asked for proof, and site faith. Faith is our PERSONAL proof, what we find to be true for our own reasons, and will not be proof to everyone. When someone asks for proof, the only argument we have is Faith. Faith alone is our personal proof.

Arguing proof to an atheist is pointless, we have none except our own personal faith and truth. And that is powerful to us. What do you think?

..does that mean that he spoke directly with the ocean, or the ocean telepathically showed him what to write. No. The why do fundies use this very argument to try and prove that the Bible is 'the Word'. My four month old inspires me to work even harder to better our lives, but that does not mean she has told me to do so. Although she is extremely advanced...LOL!

Logic doesn't work. Education doesn't take. There is misinformation being spread about evolution. They need their sky-daddy! So what can we do now to get around them? We need to make some sort of "pocket of non-influence" that they can exist inside, and not screw everything else up. How can we create this? Separation of church and state is a good start...

Well, I'm not Christian, but I am curious about sexuality rules in Christianity. I know it probably differs between traditions/sects. I'm talking about two people, man and woman, who are married and both Christians.

Matthew 11
11:12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

As my understanding those scriptures were written while John was still alive.
What does it means "And from the days of John the Baptist until now "

Question: I am not interesting why violence was in such beautiful place like heaven i am interesting what is "until now" when John supposedly should still be alive.
