For philosophical proof of God - if that is what you seek - read Rene Descartes Discourses and Meditations. (How many times do I have to post this?)

God exists in the minds and souls of believers in the same way that Dracula and Frankenstein exist in the minds of people who believe that these fictions are fact. Being on paper doesn't have anything to do with it. Oral tradition of creation stories are real in the minds of people who believe. The belief (or faith) is the key, not the universality of existence.

While your theory seems sound to me, I must contend that it simply doesn't go far enough. An on paper existence is far from proof of existence.
As a literate people we have come to accept the creations of imaginative people as fictional. I would readily grant the existence, on paper and on paper only, of Dracula, Frankenstein or God. The problem is when trying to prove the existence of an actual entity, one must produce evidence beyond another person's imagination.
Can you imagine being on trial for murder based only on the writings of me in a piece of literary fiction where I used your name as a murder. The judge would laugh the case out of court and assuming it did make it to a jury, I would predict about a one minute deliberation.
No sir; existence on paper is a pseudo-existence.

I think you have unearthed a deep philosophical insight. May I offer an embellishment: if God exists in the same way that Dracula and Frankenstein do, then maybe they are all the same entity. All we have to do now is find out who the author of God is and the entire mystery is solved.

Trying to reconcile the two schools of thought will never work. An atheist will never say that God exists and a Christian will never say that he only exists on paper. I believe in God but strenuously defend the rights of others to disagree. We can coexist but we can never reconcile our two beliefs.

God exists, and God exists as a concept are two different questions. Confusing the two is a serious logical error, I mean obviously.

"exist" is very subjective. a "form" of god exists. I've always believed that "God" was created to control and put fear in the masses at a time when chaos was the norm. That's saying if God exist so does zues and any other form of "God". But faith is a powerful tool and if you believe than it is so.
